Hey Karen - will Tucker Trump ask about this?

I'll wager to guess Russian intelligence isn't doing anything different from American intelligence which is why I don't trust anyone involved in Intelligence services anywhere.

QUESTION ASKED: Is it wrong for Tucker Carlson to interview Vladimir Putin?

In September, 1934, William Randolph Hearst, the most famous journalist and publisher in the world, visited Berlin and interviewed Adolf Hitler. At the time, Hearst admired Hitler, and was rather taken aback when the Fuhrer asked why he was so “misunderstood” in the English-language press. Hearst replied that Americans love democracy and distrusted dictatorships, to which Hitler answered that he had been democratically elected by a vast majority of Germans.

Hearst then said that Americans were concerned about the treatment of a certain unnamed minority. Hitler duly pointed out that Americans had mistreated Native Indian tribes and assured Hearst that Nazi discrimination was being curtailed. Hearst told Hitler that his public would be pleased. He was then surprised to be photographed with various Nazi leaders as part of what was obviously a press stunt for the Third Reich. “Visiting Hitler is like calling on the President of the United States,” he grumbled. “One doesn’t talk about it for publication.”

Journalism has changed a lot since in the 1930s, but that Hearst story is worth bearing in mind as self-righteous pundits queue up to denounce the former Fox News host Tucker Carlson for visiting Moscow, apparently to interview Vladimir Putin.

Bill Kristol, the director of Defending Democracy Together, said, kidding on the square: “Perhaps we need a total and complete shutdown of Tucker Carlson re-entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on.”

Bill Browder, the CEO of Hermitage Capital who writes books about the awfulness of the Kremlin, said that Carlson is “either remarkably stupid or consciously evil.” “He’s not stupid,” replied John Harwood the former Wall Street Journal and CNN man.

This is paywalled so I haven't read more than this long clip.

And having done so, I have to say: what the hell is The Spectator writer trying to argue?

Because the way I read it, it goes something like this:

- Tucker Carlson is being excoriated for interviewing war criminal Putin

- But this isn't the first time an American journalist interviewed a (proto) war criminal. None other than William Randolph Hearst interviewed Hitler himself!

So ... we should excuse Tucker because Hearst exhibited equally horrid judgement back in 1934? Because after all, that Hitler guy was just misunderstood, and likely Putin is similarly misunderstood?

I repeat: what's the point here?

How many people interviewed Putin after the invasion?

Right - pretty much every network (CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN). No one claimed those reporters were "traitors" for talking to Putin... because those were controlled assets guaranteed to edit, spin, and "report" in the way the USIC wanted them to.

Bonnie - it’s a new day - do you want to share those links and interviews now?

Well, since you asked like an adult, I will answer.

(added: I see I typed too soon, you added to your response with ignorant commentary. . . . . oh well)

I believe that Tucker explained it himself very clearly.

"It's our job," Carlson explained of why he'd undertake such an interview while acknowledging "there are risks" involved in such a project. "We're in journalism, our duty is to inform people," he reiterated.

"Most Americans have no idea why Putin invaded Ukraine, or what his goals are now," Carlson continued. "They've never heard his voice - that's wrong. Americans have a right to know all they can about a war they're implicated in, and we have the right to tell them about it because we are Americans too," Carlson emphasized in the video posted from Russia's capital.

"Freedom of speech is our birthright," Carlson said, contrasting Americans' freedom with the bleak lack of individual freedoms in Russia. "We were born with the right to say what we believe, that right cannot be taken away no matter who is in the White House," he noted. "But they're trying anyway."

Noting that he has also requested an interview with Zelensky that the Ukrainian leader has yet to accept, Carlson called uncritical reporting on Ukraine "not journalism" but "government propaganda of the ugliest kind."

"We are not here because we love Vladimir Putin," Carlson emphasized. "We are here because we love the United States - and we want it to remain prosperous and free. We paid for this trip ourselves," he clarified. "We took no money from any government or group nor are we charging people to see the interview" once it's posted. Carlson said his Putin interview would be "shot live to tape" and be posted "unedited on our website."

People opposing Tucker’s interview are opposing the values of the American founding (free press)…

We’ve always done this, and people should never fear hearing both sides…👍

That’s what the cult told us. Biden used Putin’s troops to invade Ukraine.

Here's the problem,  i don't really care about tucker and putin myself but i see their perspective,  Tucker is not a real journalist.   Hes not going to call Putin on BS or blatant lies.  Oh he'll call out 1 or 2 things for show but mostly this will be full propaganda by someone that does it best.  Many ignorant people will eat this up and fall further on the side of Russia.  Which is literally the point for vlad.  If you don't see this coming from a mile away you are ignorant on both Russia and tucker.

Yeah, I notice you didn't say I was wrong.   You know what's gonna happen.   😀

has interviewer intimated pro Russian sentiments in the past?  Check.

has interviewer spread misinformation about Russian enemies?  Check.

There's a pattern here.  Not that I care, I do not.  But be honest.   Even if just to yourself.

And because Putin said it - despite the truth of the statement itself - millions will now hear any similar remarks as "doing the work of Putin",  which allows them to turn off their brains to the evidence of this cabal smacking them in the face daily.

For evidence: see any threat written in the past 10 years on this subject.

NPCS gonna NPC and all.
