racketmaster Posted November 2, 2020 Share Posted November 2, 2020 Just not a fan and have never been as an NFL prospect. He must overcome being less than ideal height along with a lesser arm talent. He is not a great athlete and has been somewhat injury prone. I thought his ball placement would be better and even that was not very good but I would expect that portion of his game to improve. Overall, I'm not worried at all about Tua and in fact I am thrilled the Dolphins have decided to hitch their wagon to him for the next year or two at the least. What I am worried about is Lawrence ended up with the Jets as that could be a gamechanger in the division. On the Rams side, it was 120 degrees. Rex Ryan said, I think it was him, that Miami has the greatest home field advantage in the NFL because of the temperature and humidity, especially early in the season. Mrbojanglezs Posted November 2, 2020 Share Posted November 2, 2020 (edited) Heard something interesting on Buffalo Beat podcast, they said they heard the reason that Tua is starting so early in the year 1 is that because they have the Texans 1st pick they want to try to make a quick evaluation on him if they need to be in the qb market in the 2021 draft. Interesting if true. The podcast may have stolen that from an article I read earlier. Not only do they have Houston #1, but also their 2nd round. Thought they may even have an extra 2022 pick too. So they have many picks that they could trade to move up assuming they can find a partner. But right now I’m glad that out of the highly drafted rookies, he’s the one in our division instead of Burrow and Herbert. It feels like they're playing a longer game in hopes they hit with Tua and can be a dominant team in a year or two, and I'd be surprised if he doesn't struggle the rest of the way. That said, I've been surprised before. But when I looked at the stats, I'm like "how on earth did Miami win that?" I was excited when they drafted him. I think he can be a quality NfL QB. I just don’t see a guy that I’m going to be scared to play. Trevor Lawrence is a better NFL prospect than Tua, no doubt. But they way you just described Tua is exactly how a lot of people described Drew Brees... and Tua's college film is far more impressive. His accuracy/touch is elite. Not saying he's guaranteed to be an NFL star but to be that dismissive this early is short sighted. 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
