His wife was taking care of them full time, but ultimately he had to take a leave of absence because of the stress it was putting on his wife. He was fortunate that his employer made certain arrangements for him to take the time he needed, but not everyone is that fortunate. The time, effort and emotional stress was so evident in every phone call we had.
