TE Greg Olsen is done in Carolina. Would you bring him to Buffalo

No. He’s done and headed to do TV. He was on with cowherd today and he’s excellent. I don’t think he’s the type who is going to try to play longer on another team. Feels like he’s had one foot out the door (no pun intended) for a couple years.

btw - the next shoe to drop will be Cam when new league year starts. First keuchly, now Olsen, cam is next. Complete overhaul in Carolina.

Yeah I’ll be shocked if they don’t trade Cam and go into full rebuild mode. It seems inevitable at this point. I was expecting it to happen even before Kuechly retired.

I think that is probably Rhule’s best shot at success - build a fresh, young team from the ground up that will buy into his message.

I would rather have Olsen on the roster as the Vet Mentor over Lee Smith or Kroft any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Let me Caveat I would still rather go get a Hooper or Henry over Olsen. But if he is willing to accept a team friendly deal I would be all over it.

Concerning the TE room, we have three quality young guys: Know, Sweeney, and Croom. Get rid of Kroft and spend his money eleswhere, and, yes, bring in Olson on a team-friendly deal. Or, go get one of the studs.

yeah, the most he will do as far as playing is go to the jets, giants , rams or chargers to get more reps in the studio and get to those areas in general.  the last place you want to continue building a media career after playing is buffalo, for crying out loud.   that would be just career stupid.

If he still wants to play you could definitely see him going somewhere with familiarity with someone who he knows.  The Bills are certainly one of those teams, and I'm sure that he has respect for McDermott and Beane and honestly he could help the young roster of TEs and Josh.  Yeah he is old, but he is not as old as Witten, or the recently retired Antonio Gates.  He has been a really good player in this league, and I see it as a great mentor for the young TEs even if he isn't on the field as much as he has been in his career.

It would be a solid pickup for the team and it makes a lot of sense for him and the team.

If you put Greg Olson on the Bills today he is immediately our best TE and tied with Brown as our best receiver.

Much like Gore was brought in as a role model, GO is a professional’s professional, as well as, a veteran leader for the whole O, including Josh.

I understand he has a waiting broadcasting career and diminished skills but he would still be an amazing get for this team on a one or two year deal. I am majorly in “ wait and see” mode on Knox and Greg would be the best coach the kid could have.
He would also be a coach for JA in terms of reading D and finding openings in zones.
    Dude can block also!

This is a no brained pick up if McBeane can entice him.

I say no to Olsen, I want them to go big at TE, excellent TE play and having more than 1 is a successful trend in NFL. I still want Austin Hooper. Releasing Lee Smith and Kroft (which is doable if they have Hooper) make the net impact of Hooper on the cap of about +$3 million.

And Hooper is 25. Build the young core. Knox and Hooper could have a 5-7 year run in Buffalo.

I don't think it's a coincidence that the Super Bowl teams have Kelce and Kittle.

100% I would bring him in.  We have two young TEs with upside he could really help mentor.

However, I thinks it’s most likely he is going to retire especially after the Kobe tragedy.  He has daughters and has already pondered retiring and spending more time with them prior to this.  He was one of many who spoke out about the Kobe tragedy and was posting pics of his own daughters.

So I think he was probably already leaning to retirement before Kobe, but after I think it probably sealed it to start that next chapter where he’s just with his family.  This Kobe tragedy has affected a lot of people deeply and put a lot of things in perspective.
