I disagree 100% * First off that was a brilliant back shoulder throw by Allen. Mahomes & Rogers hit that pass all the time. You do realize that the Steelers DB was called for PI on that play right? That's what a great back shoulder throw does - catch it for a big gain or draw a PI. * Brown didn't really prevent a pick on that throw. That was the moron Collingsworth trying to claim that the throw was almost intercepted. Watch a replay and the DB would have had to make a spectacular play to INT that ball. It was a good 50/50 ball by Allen and Brown did a nice job fighting for it and preventing any chance for an INT. Pretty routine play by an NFL WR. Sammy Watkins' Rib Posted December 16, 2019 Share Posted December 16, 2019 I'll give him a B given the circumstances, playing a great D on the road in his very first night primetime game and the stakes being high. Normally with the raw numbers he put up the grade would be a C at best. But the QBR grading system thought he did well giving him a 59 QBR. Only a 65 QB rating that was surely dragged down a lot by the INT that still could have possibly been caught by Beasley, or easily caught by any WR 6'0" tall. I think we do need to take notice to what the Ravens are doing with Jackson and find ourselves more large targets for Allen in the off-season. Dude, the guy is in his second year on a ground-up rebuild against a team that won 7 of its last 8 with a kick-your-ass defense. He took what was given to him. He made the big throws that needed to be made. He threw for a TD and ran for a TD. AGAIN. I suspect you're one of those guys who thinks the problem with Josh Allen is he hasn't had a 300 yard game. I would agree that Brown saved him on the second one .. but the first .. that is exactly where you want that placed. Brady makes that throw all the time and people say it was a smart throw. Have the receiver come back and the DB is in a horrible position. As for the Cole Beasley pass .. yes it was a bit high .. but excellent receivers make these all the time. The problem is we have very good receivers, but not an excellent reciever who will make the really hard catch. It’s frustrating when people won’t acknowledge Allen being an absolute monster rushing for TDs. Most QBs have to hand off or throw for TDs, even one yard out. That allows the defense to have a free man to move around.
