Nonsense, we all know that only evil, biased, constitution-hating Republicans must recuse themselves. Democrats are pure as the driven snow in this affair.

The bigger question is why the democratic senators running for president don’t have to recuse themselves. They’re clearly biased and have a personal interest in the outcome.

Mitch should sit on the “articles” until after the early primaries to let the sitting senators take part in their primaries. :nana: Nancy.

That's not what the present rules say though and we know Leader Pelosi is a stickler for the rules.

Because Democrat Senators are paragons of virtue and impartiality.

Russians are all in for Trump. Well, we already knew that. So you Trump Cultists must be happy now. Putin's got your back.

Russian military spies have hacked a Ukrainian gas company that is at the heart of an impeachment trial of President Trump, who sought last year to pressure Ukraine to investigate the company and its links to Joe Biden’s son, according to a cybersecurity firm.

Beginning in early November, the Russian spy agency known as the GRU launched a cyber “phishing” campaign against Burisma Holdings to trick unsuspecting employees into giving up their email credentials so the hackers could gain access to their email accounts — once again entangling Moscow in domestic U.S. politics, according to Area 1 Security, a Redwood City, Calif., company.

The operation’s launch coincided with a congressional impeachment inquiry into Trump and whether he abused his office by seeking to press Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky into announcing a probe of Burisma and Hunter Biden — an action that conceivably would aid Trump’s reelection bid.

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) announced publicly that he would vote to hear Bolton, and perhaps others, testify. He is not the only Republican, according to a CBS News report:

Senior White House officials tell CBS News they increasingly believe that at least four Republicans, and likely more, will vote to call witnesses. In addition to Senators Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Susan Collins of Maine, Mitt Romney of Utah and possibly Cory Gardner of Colorado, the White House also views Rand Paul of Kentucky as a “wild card” and Senator Lamar Alexander of Tennessee as an “institutionalist” who might vote to call witnesses, as one official put it.

i very sincerely doubt ol' Jerry Lewis Nads will be an impeachment manager. he would need to have all his questions written for him from the chair.

Has anyone contemplated the reasons for the House Dems not having a special prosecutor/counsel to investigate Trump's "impeachable deeds"? Instead they empowered  guys named Schiff and Nadler (who basically have immunity for what they may say) to run the impeachment efforts in the House. Pelosi, otherwise known as the Wicked Witch of the West, has morphed into an even slimier partisan hack than ever before.

No way Nadler will subject himself to that scrutiny.  He won't be a manager.  Not a chance.

They're out of bullets is why.

That's why they're recycling literally the same playbook from "Trump Russia" and hoping no one notices.

I would say he probably will in fact, and Schiff is an absolute must as a floor manager simply because then, they arguably could not be called as witnesses...

of course. they learned from the Mueller Investigation. they knew that a special investigator would bring them nothing so they held onto it to manufacture the outcome.

Rudy, obviously. Putin, probably directly. And part of the Ukraine scam was to trying an exonerate Russia for putting stooge Trump in the WH. Shameful

Not that it will matter to the cultists, but more evidence of the abuse of power and general criminality of this Junta \

New materials released by House Democrats appear to show Ukraine’s top prosecutor offering an associate of President Trump’s personal attorney, Rudolph W. Giuliani, damaging information related to former vice president Joe Biden if the Trump administration recalled the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine.

The text messages and documents provided to Congress by former Giuliani associate Lev Parnas also show that before the ambassador, Marie Yovanovitch, was removed from her post, a Parnas associate now running for Congress sent menacing text messages suggesting that he had Yovanovitch under surveillance in Ukraine. A lawyer for Yovanovitch said Tuesday that the episode should be investigated.

The cache of materials released by House investigators late Tuesday exposed a number of previously unknown details about efforts by Giuliani and his associates to obtain material in Ukraine that would undermine Trump’s Democratic opponents.

Hey Tibs....what if a certain former Vice President was actually laundering money and peddling influence in a foreign country? We just look the other way? (You May want to look in the mirror. You’ve been pointing the same finger at a certain then presidential candidate for over three years now)
