McDermott on no trades: "There have been too many years of irresponsible decision-making, let's just put it that way."

The Bills didn’t need to bring in another WR.

Because, this what can be done from within........

Kroft stays healthy and gets a couple of touches per game.

McKenzie is in there on GD and gets a few more touches.

Knox holds onto the ball.

Singletary becomes the feature back.

STOP with the designed QB runs, unless it’s less than a yard or inside the oppositions 5 yard line.

All sounds pretty simple and the Bills don’t have to trade away draft assets to do it.

Don't you ever tire of being a one trick pony?

No because it is pretty obvious how the board reacts whenever McClappity says something.

I want to see exciting offensive football, wins and to be entertained.  Going between 6-10 & 9-7 as the Bills do year after year, and this regime refusing to concentrate or have a high powered offense that can score in the high 20's-30's (heck have only scored over 20 is three games (28, 21 & 31 with a defensive TD) doesn't make for fun or any longterm winning football imo.

Agreed.  I still have hope for this year, although I see many have given up with only 7 games played.

I didn't mean that at all and you know it.

I didn’t give up at all.

They got their lunch handed to them by Philly, it happens. I’m over it.

Now they need to make their adjustments and go out and beat Washington.

It starts by making Singletary the feature back, while Gore is the change up back.

The Bills need to start playing from ahead in these games, as it plays to their strengths.

They are going to build through the draft and NO big splashes in FA.   They said it day one and they say it now.  You change the culture by changing the past!

Does this not include signing Star in 2018 to a 5 year 50M contract with 24.6M guaranteed?  Or Mitch Morse to a 4 year 44.5M contract with 26M guaranteed?

Oh snap.

Like giving a 3rd for Kelvin Benjamin?  Or letting a Premier CB walk for Nothing?  Maybe he means making Skates a 10M dollar man?  Or Maybe he means signing Halftime Retirement Vonte?  Or is he talking about trading up for a MLB?  Or trading up for a Zay Jones?  Trotting our Peterman as a starter?  How many OCs?

projecting much today McClappy?

you have been on the job now long enough to stop pointing to other regimes. Maybe you should learn a little in game management?  Seems you still have your irresponsible decisions there and have yet to improve?

McKenzie needs to be active so he can actually get the ball

A late 3rd was still wayyyy to much.

That's a premium pick for a oversized , slow TE masquerading as a WR

It was terrible the day it went down and they were hoping on a prayer

I did not have a problem with it at the time. In hindsight it's easy to criticize but for a 3rd and the team's needs at the time it was good value.

Good for you and for the record I wasn't talking specifically to you.

McDermott and the boys have a lot more work to do.

Hoping they get back on track Sunday.

Randy Moss went for a 4th.

He was a reciever coming off injury who was already slow. They took a Carolina guy because they knew him

They easily coulda got better a better scheme fit for less

This is certainly a fair question.

I believe we are better situated at QB and on both lines. I also think that the 2020 draft is chock full of wide receivers which I continue to think is a glaring need. I think that the Bills are well situated to make the playoffs this season and a MAJOR move in 2020. And I am glad that Whaley is not there to squander our best resources.

I still think there is a lot to be proven if we are better at qb yet.  Allen certainly could be but it also is hard to say so when the Jags can have a 6th round pick who looks miles better as a passer than our 7th overall 2nd year qb.  But long way to go.

i think McDermott is an outstanding DC and one of the best secondary coaches in the nfl.  Our offense is still a major work in progress after 3 years. Obviously it’s mainly on Allen but I believe Whaley’s best team would absolutely beat this current group. JMO.

He was fat and out of shape and had terrible knees in Carolina. Cam won the MVP and they went 15-1 when he missed the entire year.

Woods, Goodwin & Watkins.....  Yep a bad group of receivers.....

Again lot's of teams have money, however coming to Buffalo is a tough sell for a marquee player.....  10 wins with this schedule should be a minimum when you should have 5 wins vs. tanking teams (Miami, Washington & NYJ), have won vs. NYG,, winless Cincy and have upcoming games vs. Denver & Pitt without a QB.......  They then have dysfunctional Cleveland, Dalls, NE & Balt.....

10 should be the minimum & then a second place schedule in 2020......

wtf does this have to do with anything I said? at what point did I ever talk about past present or future wr's in my post. it literally has nothing to do with what i was talking about. you are all over the place man.

and we'll win 10. probably 11.... 10 or 11 wins and 90 mil to spend..... WHAT AN AWFUL SITUATION! THE HORROR!!!

also.... Beasley passed up the pats to come to buffalo. could we please drop the ignorant narrative that FA's wont come to buffalo? its just dumb.

I think Whaley took, and continues to take a lot of unwarranted criticism. I think there were two primary issues that caused him problems. First, he was tasked with finding players for differing philosophies under coaching changes. The second has nothing to do with finding talent; however, I am convinced his lack of skills as a public speaker brought about a very unfavorable perception of him and his abilities.

I agree with you, I thought Whaley was a very good talent evaluator.

Whaley got screwed by never being allowed to pick his HC.  Rex destroyed a top 5 defense. Now McD destroyed a top 10 offense.  I don't really care for McDermott but at some point they need to stick with a regime for a while.  If Allen is a top 15 QB then Beane and McD will get several more years to win.

Wow Maj, I agree with everything in this post.  But one question, who is Skates?

Goodwin has had 1 decent season out of 7 years in the NFL.  That was 2 years ago.  Watkins had 2 good seasons with  EJ Manual, Tyrod Taylor, and Kyle Orton.  That 4 and 5 years ago.  Woods I liked but he reportedly wanted to go back home and even he has only had one season over 1k yards so far.  Good group compared to the scrubs we had last year but not really all that much better than what we have right now.
