TSW Mock Draft 1.0 - Complete

Recommended Posts

Alright everyone,

Here is the thread for our TSW Mock Draft.  Every team is represented by a forum member (listed below) and has 4 hours to make their selection.  There will not be any trades in this mock draft.  When the Bills are up, I will make a poll to see who the forum thinks we should select.

When making your pick, please use the following format:

With the 1st overall pick, the Arizona Cardinals select Leon Sandcastle, DB Brisol.  The 49ers (@Membername) are on the clock.

I'm opening the thread now, even though we aren't supposed to start until 4pm.  If they picks roll in early, then so be it.

Since I’ve never heard of Max Fisher, I’ve taken it upon myself to draft for Arizona.

And we take Nick Bosa.

So you keep Rosen and build  around him?  I would be in that camp not because I am  a Rosen fan but I worry Murray can not take a pounding.

Are we sure he wanted this pick? He could of been just horsing around. Kind of important we get it right here.

I mean, he directly said that’s who he wanted. Every mock has it happening and the Rosen trade talks are heating up.

Fair enough, it's definitely a realistic pic.

Raises an interesting scenario what would happen if the Cardinals don't take Murray- What teams would frenzy to move up and at what spot?

But then again, no trades here.

How does one get in on participating in this draft as a GM?

My understanding is there will be several of them before draft day, depending on how this one goes. Just keep an eye out for Virgil's posts and claim your team. I think it's first-come, first-served.

There will be another sign up after this mock.  We filled this one in 24 hours this past week.

People will drop off. I got in on the final one last year which I believe went 3 rounds. There will be openings.

......and if there are no shows then those spots should open up for the next draft.

If the same folks are kept the spots should be adjusted an arbitrary number (+/- 5 ?) to mix it up.  Same people in same spots will most likely yield the same results.

Thanks to @Virgil for coordinating this draft.

Agreed and understood, and there’s no interest on my part in participating.  I just found it less than accommodating that ‘Chuck Wagon’ there figured he is the ‘end all and be all’ for the Colts in mock drafts here at TSW.

Based upon how we ran things last year, that's what we did.  Some people had the same team the whole time, some traded off.   But thanks for the input "Ridgewaycynic2013".

Considering none of us are real fans of the teams we are running, consistency allows posters to dig in and understand the teams, who they are bringing in on visits, etc.  But thanks for implying I'm up to no good.

With your explanation, I see the rationale behind the consistency aspect.  I merely looked upon the situation as letting a few other (interested and capable) forum members participate.

I think the same people keeping the same teams is lame.  Unless you trade, you’re more than likely to select the same players.  I have the Vikings in this draft.  I prefer to choose a different team.

The posters that have teams with multiple picks also get to have more fun.  Mix it up imo

If you think the average user "needs" it you obviously haven't tried it. I don't know what % of users "need" it but I wouldn't be surprised if it is under 5% at this point-the product is mainly recreational these days.

If I'm still Arizona . . . with the First Pick of the First Round, Arizona selects Kyler Murray, Quarterback from the University of Oklahoma.

So is the pick you think they will make or the pick you would make as GM?  Why Murray for #1?

Both. Under almost any coach I think the GM would given Rosen another shot but the hire of Kingsbury signaled that they would quickly move in another direction.  I just don't think Rosen is a Kingsbury guy and the coach would lobby hard for Murray.  Under a different coach I think they keep Rosen and draft Bosa.

Edit: I'd add, I think Kingsbury will be flash in the pan and hiring mistake.

Thanks. I agree that Kingsbury will be replaced in a few years.  He was not overly successful in college so I expect less in the pros.
