Beavis and Butthead

I used to watch that show religiously.  It was one of those shows where either you hated it because it was so stupid, or loved it.  I thought it was hilarious; I also saw the move "Beavis and Butthead Do America"

Did anyone else watch this show?  I revisited some episodes last night on YouTube.  Both characters look smart nowadays....

Both are in Congress today.

That show is funny as hell.  I remember it was always on while I was eating breakfast before school during my senior year of HS.  Love it.

The show was pretty dumb but the movie was actually really good and funny.

To this day "Settle down Beavis" is one of my go to responses to anyone who needs to, you know, settle down. My wifes rants often provoke this.

I say this to my wife and kids too, and now my kids repeat it.

My wife doesn't always appreciate it!

It's also a great phrase for this board, especially after a Bills loss.

I used to watch it religiously. Remember when they got sued and were no longer permitted to say "fire" in any episodes?

Ah yes....it was Mike Judge's fault that a 5 year old was allowed to watch B&B and had access to matches.   But Judge had plenty of fun goofing on the ban.

I'm kind of the opposite of most people. Thought the show was stupid when I was a teenager. Revisited them in my mid 20s, and thought it was hilarious. I don't know why. I always got the jokes. I think I considered myself kind of a snob when it came to humor, so didn't want to like something that I thought was "beneath me."

great show when the original videos were still in it

loved it from day one, all the lame-o's who were repulsed later worshiped King of the Hill and now rave about South Park....

King of the Hill?  Also being made by Mike Judge is the only reason to include that in your list.  The whole style of that show is on a completely different continent than the other two.

But anyway, it was a completely different world at that point.  That's the only reason it got that different reaction.  We're talking about a similar time frame where Barbara Bush was going after the Simpsons.  Someone needs to pinpoint the exact moment where people finally pulled the stick out of their ass.  Then again, they did decide to turn around and put that stick right back in a few years later.

King of the Hill eased the B&B haters into "intellectual" cartooning....

My favorite thing was when some god awful 80s video was on, and it would pan to them, mouths agape in horror.   That's exactly how I felt about all the whiny turbo 80s music they were pushing back then.  anything that sounded like Depeche Mode or the Pet shop boys was ear cancer in my book.
