YoloinOhio
There was some discomfort in the GDT over Hyde returning punts in Minnesota. He has experience doing it, and we saw ray ray make a rookie mistake on his chance. Kerley was the PR before he got cut. Thoughts?
Soda Popinski
No I think RayRay should be returning punts. But he can't let one roll for 40 yards like he did last week.

YoloinOhio
I think field position is monumental with our offense. So I’m on the fence. I know Hyde had a lot of success returning punts in GB and we are fairly deep at safety but the drop off from him to Bush isn’t good.
PeterDude
Nope, should not be risking injury. They need to find someone else.
MJS
In my opinion you should never have a starter returning kicks or punts. It's a risky endeavor.

whatdrought
I don't know that I recall seeing many punt returners getting hurt- maybe I am wrong. That being said, It's impossible to plan against injury- best man does the job.
Bing Bong
I liked that Powell dude a lot actually. Rarely made mistakes. Wasn't going to break out for a TD return, but got positive yardage and didn't do anything stupid. Was refreshing from Leodis days. Just want a dude like that. AB did it last year (the kick in the punter's face lol), if the talent is that special then go for it. I don't think the risk reward is there with Hyde compared to AB or Desean Jackson lol. I don't know, it's a couple plays a game. Mostly fair catches. And after he does return a kick, he has time to rest while the offense is on the field. If he's the best they have, it should be considered.
Punching Bag
Winfield used to return punts and play starting CB. I think it is okay for Defense players to return punts and Offense players to return kickoffs since each will get a rest after play.

YoloinOhio
Last time we played GB we returned a punt for a TD (Marcus Thigpen). Maybe Micah will do it vs his old team?
BillsFan130
It’s definitely a tough call. Hyde seems very reliable returning punts but he’s such a valuable player of course. But Murphy/Ray Ray have looked very sketchy so far. So its a very tough call. I would give the slight edge to Hyde though. Fair catch a lot of them and only return them when there is lots of room

BuffaloBillyG
I'd let him return punts in certain situations. Maybe not full time. In addition to injury risk I would be concearned with, him getting winded easier late in games if hes taking on extra duties.

I just think it would be silly to lose a major contributor on offense or defense because you had him returning kicks and punts. I know a lot of coaches choose not to take that risk. Obviously the Steelers choose to take that risk with Antonio Brown.

Mark Vader
I understand that Hyde has experience in returning punts, but I'm too nervous thinking that he could get injured on such a play. We need to keep our starting players remain where they are. Ray-Ray can handle the job.
Heavy Kevi
Returner is not really much of an impact position any more. Injury risk just doesn't make sense unless it's a critical punt/situation. Under normal circumstances, no, he should not even be on the field. Id argue that return pales in comparison to AB and Desean Jackson returning. They're worth the risk because they have a high return of making a play. Just saying sounds like Hyde is alright at it, but I'd only have a special kind of playmaker starter returning is all if we were to have an important starting player returning punts at all.
