Chris Ivory will be first option if LeSean McCoy isn’t available

The day began with a post regarding the wisdom of the Bills having a Plan B ready in the event that running back LeSean McCoy can’t play. Intervening developments tend to make the necessity of a fallback option even more advisable.

Jay Skurski of the Buffalo News reports that veteran Chris Ivory would be the “first option” if McCoy ends up being unavailable, either because of his placement by the NFL on the Commission

Oh that will be great... expected to get 30 carries to over 250 if that’s the case. Should work out well. Ivory hasn’t been able to carry the load for 3-4 years now.

Keith Ford's a slippery downhill runner. Would be cool if he turned out to be a diamond in the rough.

He’s someone I’m watching

I think the Bills blew it. Should have let Richie Incognito play out his current deal with no pay cut. The Bills have the space

With the loss of Eric Woods this will not be the same Offensive line with power to the left.

That might be the thinking of the Bills right now, with the players they have on their roster, but training camp and preseason could have aprofound effect on any decision the Bills make.

i don't think i can sign on to ivory as a starter.  all i can see is 3yds.  2yds....pass and punt. i'd rather roll (if we could do no better) with cadet / jones / murphy.  of course dimarco makes 4.

30% of McCoy's carries were for -5 to +1 yards.

The Bills currently have 89 players on their roster, which leaves them with one open spot as they head into training camp.

According to a report from Mike Rodak of ESPN.com, they may be looking to fill that spot with a veteran running back. Rodak reports that the team has shown interest in bringing former Chargers running back Branden Oliver in for a workout.

I knew it was only a matter of time before somebody brought up the ONE EXCEPTION in Khalil Mack.

You do realize they have 3 legitimate pro prospects on their roster right now? Legitimate top 3-4 round players

They haven’t even been a D1 Football school for 30 years yet and they have a top 5 pick and all pro

not too mention James Stark a guy who notched out a 6+ year career and Brandon Oliver a vet NFL back

plus tons of guys to PSs and training camps, better than a lot of colleges can say. They are gonna win the MAC this year

UB is going to be on the up and up

You can laugh all you want. I’ve been around the program since it started back up and I’m still around it daily

They are super talented and about to make noise. They have the best defensive player in the MAC and a top WR and MAC QB

they are getting 9-10 wins

Don't flatter yourself.

You said McCoy's replacement yield be  pile of tiny yard carries.  I was poi ting out that it's not much different than McCoy..best player or not.  He's a boom or bust runner.
