Confession time at TBD

major

Recommended Posts

My friends and I pelted the MNF booth with snowballs and then gave Dandy Don, Howard Cosell, and Frank Gifford the finger. They pointed at us and laughed their asses off.

I was in the section of the end zone that hit Foreman with the snowball.

 Those are my Bills confessions.

At the height of the Johnson - Flutie debate, I went to training camp. I was 12. It was my Birthday. I wore my Rob Johnson jersey. BECAUSE I was the only kid there with a Johnson jersey, amidst a sea of Flutie jerseys, and because it was my brithday...Bill Pucko from R News Rochester  decided to make me the "camper of the day" and put me on that evening's news.

He asked "So, young man, why do you have a Rob Johnson jersey on today?". I replied something to the effect of "I believe he is going to be the future of the Buffalo Bills!". Sure enough, it aired that night, on a loop, on R News.

So yeah, there's archival footage of me on the news, in a Rob Johnson jersey, predicting that he'd be the future of the team. Woof!

This could be the breakthrough posting in proving/disproving the Mandela Effect (see OTW forum).

I wanted the Bills to move up for Kuechly, when we refused I wanted them to draft Tannehill.

I also committed the ultimate sin, wanting them to draft manzell.

Not having a QB since Kelly tends to warp ones mind.

Oh, and there was that time when I believed Rex was building a bully.

This is hard :bag:

At one point I believed Rex was "building a bully", I just didn't think that was a good thing.

Bullies, to me, are people who don't work hard and plan for their own success, so they try to co-opt other people's success and blame others for failure.  They bluster and threaten people they perceive as weaker, but "fold" like cheap lawn chairs when that scrawny kid kicks them hard in the knee or stands up to them with his 6 dan black belt chops.

Nope, didn't think "building a bully" was a good idea.

I'm with you on the "building a bully," mentality.  But I will admit - when Rex was hired, I was ecstatic.  It didn't take me long (before the regular season started) to realize I was wrong; but I drank to Kool Aid very early on.

Confession?  Seeing the word 'passion' in a TBD-TSW thread pisses me off even more than seeing it in an employment ad.  ("Do you have a passion for reaching out as a CSR for Sears?")

Oh, and seeing the 'Buffalo 66' thread in TSW.  ?

I was exactly the same way. I believed in Tyrod, too. I even believed in Thad Lewis for a game, or two. I'll even believe in Peterman in the unlikely event he starts the season.

One more confession from me, though: I despise three-way QB competitions. I think they damage a team's early-season development.

I wanted them to draft James Hardy (may he rest in peace) and thought he would be the answer at WR they needed so badly.

Me too.  My 2 great errors in judgment were praising the drafting of Sammy & Hardy. I thought they'd both be exceptional. The jury is still out on Peterman but I thought he was a steal in the 6th. I may have to do 5 " Our Fathers " . One for every Charger pick.... I guess my greatest sin is why I'm a 50 year Bill's fanatic in the first place......OJ

I missed the end of the Denver/bills game where Denver won with a fg because I was making out with some Canadian chick I just met.

Are you confessing or bragging?
