Unlike most automakers, Ford reports its electric vehicle numbers separately, but experts estimate that most car companies are losing similar amounts on the dead end business.” “Ford plans to make 2 million electric cars every year by 2025. That would be impressive considering that Ford only sold 61,575 of them in 2022. It sold 3,624 electric vehicles in Feb 2023.” And the numbers just keep getting worse. It’s now a loss of $4.5 billion. The truth is this was the plan - democrats stealing money and giving a lot of it to their chinese allies. It's a big heist. Ford Considers Cutting Shift at F-150 Lightning Pickup Plant, UAW Memo Says. The official, who leads the union’s local chapter that represents workers at the truck factory, said in a letter dated Tuesday that the automaker was considering canceling the shift and indicated that it was looking to build more gas-engine trucks instead. “It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that our sales for the Lightning have tanked,” the union leader wrote in the memo, which was viewed by The Wall Street Journal. . . . Sales of the EV pickup, which initially had long wait lists, have sputtered in recent months. Ford recorded a 45.8% drop in U.S. vehicle sales of its electric truck in the third quarter. Government mandates, and even government subsidies, ultimately can’t make people want a product they don’t want. https://archive.ph/k0HUm

Precision
NYC spent $523,000 each for 7 electric plow trucks, at a total cost of over $3.6 million. After testing they found...... “In our test of the non-diesel rear-loaders, we found that they could not plow the snow effectively. We need them to go 12 hours and so I do not see today, given the current state of the technology, a path forward to fully electrifying the rear loader portion of the fleet by 2040.” New York turns back to diesel snow plows and leaves electric vehicles behind Anyone looking to purchase a lightly used electric plow truck should give the clowns in NYC a call. 1

All_Pro_Bills
The key problem is EV's and "Green" renewable sources of electricity are economically uncompetitive absent subsidies and tax credits. No amount of dire predictions are going to change that reality. Beyond efforts to make conventional energy more expensive to level the playing field additional work is needed to improve the efficiency and reliability. That might be decades away. This is some high level leadership in play. They spend $523,000 for 7 vehicles to run as “a test”? As irresponsible as it would to be 1 without representation and testing by the manufacturer, the magic number is 7? Someone got paid. 1
Tommy Callahan
The facts you presented, and the fact we are doing nothing to actually scale up the electricity production for the grid. We are closing Nuke plants while "green" energy is still expensive, unreliable and is a very small part of the energy used. Parts of the world are building nuke plants just for that reason. Mostly China, Russia, India. The EU and the west are decommissioning them. (Outside France, they like cheap electricity) https://www.world-nuclear.org/information-library/current-and-future-generation/plans-for-new-reactors-worldwide.aspx https://www.world-nuclear.org/information-library/nuclear-fuel-cycle/nuclear-wastes/decommissioning-nuclear-facilities.aspx
Orlando Tim
I saw James Hansen is making the rounds again, he who is 1988 made predictions about some of the NYC roads being under water by the year 2000. His defenders are hilarious since all of the real changes he predicted are clearly wrong they fight for the statement that CO2 has gone up, but without any consequences. Truly it is 35 years since his initial warning, everything he warned about as far as CO2 and pollution has happened and none of the bad things have happened.
