Global warming err Climate change HOAX

Wow, we have been asked to fork over our life savings to our government and "experts" have not even looked into who plants deal with CO2? There are thousands of variables but this is one that can be easily studied. This would be embarrassing to anyone with integrity

Report: CNBC Eliminates Climate Desk,
No More Dedicated Staff Covering Climate Change

by David Ng

CNBC has reportedly shut down its climate desk and will no longer have dedicated journalists covering climate change. The Comcast-owned business news cable network hasn’t publicly commented on the decision, which was first reported by Bloomberg Green journalist Akshat Rathi. Rathi cited a LinkedIn post by recently laid-off CNBC “climate innovation and technology” reporter Catherine Clifford, who recounted a conversation she had with her “editor’s boss.” “As part of wider newsroom headcount reductions, there would no longer be any staff at CNBC dedicated to covering climate, this boss said,” Clifford wrote. ” The climate desk was being dismantled and my position covering climate tech and innovation

Not a big surprise but it's nice that someone is finally providing the data.  In my experience with electrical systems batteries/chargers have always been the least reliable components.

EVs significantly less reliable than gas-engine cars, Consumer Reports finds

"Electric vehicles are much less reliable on average than those with traditional internal combustion engines, according to new data from Consumer Reports.

The magazine's annual auto reliability brand rankings released Wednesday found consumers reported 79% more problems with EVs than gas-powered cars, trucks and SUVs from the 2000 to 2023 model years studied, and 146% more problems with plug-in hybrids."

The climate agenda is the same scheme used by many "non-profits."

Step 1: find a cause nobody can be against (helping malnourished babies, saving puppies, fill in the blank lives matter, fixing the environment)

Step 2: collect all of the money (in this case taxes)

Step 3: pocket as much of the money as you can with "administration fees" and multi layered business transactions (using a vendor of which you are also the owner).

Step 4: profit

If any of you tree humping Libs want to save the environment, I am starting a "Save the Entire World" fund so please PM me and I will send you my venmo details!

If you don't give me money then you are clearly against saving the world and also racist!

Just buy some carbon offsets. It will give you the satisfaction of knowing you did your part the next time John Kerry flies private to a climate conference.

Five Reasons Why Climate Skepticism And Dissent Are Important

Issues & Insights, by The Editorial Board

Today a blithering throng of nascent tyrants, fevered zealots, useless office-holders, hypocrites and ignoble grifters will gather to kick off 28th United Nations Conference of the Parties in the grand pursuit of “global transformative climate action.” For nearly two weeks they will rail and prattle endlessly about how important it is to end fossil fuel use, nag those they slander as “deniers,” tell new lies, restate old lies, hold themselves up as saviors, dine sumptuously – then board jets, many of them privately owned, that burn oceans of hydrocarbon-based aviation fuel to return home.

There was an interesting article in the paper today about GM and electric cars. (Yes, I take the paper and read it everyday)

Some interesting things in there:

Quote

GM is committed to an all-EV future globally. On that pathway, we continue to study consumer preferences and powertrain options, to ensure we best respond to customer demand and comply with an uncertain, complex and increasingly stringent regulatory landscape for 2027 and beyond.

Isn't this always the case?

Quote

"The reality," said the letter reported by Bloomberg, "is that electric vehicle demand today is not keeping up with the large influx of BEVs arriving at our dealerships prompted by the current regulations. BEVs are stacking up on our lots."

BEV stands for Battery Electric Vehicle.  Nobody wants to buy them.  Probably cuz they're so expensive.

Quote

Also in October, GM and Honda Motor Co. Ltd. said they were nixing an affordable electric vehicle program they jointly announced last year.

No.affordable electric cars in the foreseeable future.

Quote

Barra told investors during the third-quarter call that the company "is taking immediate steps to enhance the profitability of our EV portfolio," which includes "moderating the pace" of its EV push next year and in 2025 "to maintain strong pricing."

Manufacture less so they can soak yuppies for higher profit.

Time for a climate exit

by Vic Forbes

The world's rich and famous, plus an army of publicists, hangers-on and, mendicants, are attending the COP28 meeting in Dubai, the ostentatious 7-star playground capital of the United Arab Emirates, where even the police drive luxury sports cars. We peasant classes sitting at home note that climate royalty, including King Charles from the U.K., John Kerry from USA, and Blackouts Bowen from Australia, are all flying there, burning vast amounts of carbon fuels.

Fittingly, these hypocrites chose to meet in the richest and most wasteful artificial city in the world, wallowing in wealth derived from oil, gas, and air travel tourists.

The UAE has already been accused of using the meeting to organize oil and gas sales “on the sidelines,” so for the UAE, it will be doubly profitable.

The sinister hidden agenda of COP28 in Dubai is about rationing and depopulation — they want to ration energy, reduce meat production, and eliminate wasteful driving and “useless eaters.”

CNN: It's Time For Carbon Passports To Limit Travel (To Save The Environment, Of Course)

We all knew this was coming, so is anyone really surprised?

The Left is desperate to limit your ability to travel, to reduce your quality of life, restrict your housing options and your diet. While they continue to jet to Dubai to meet (because they're just too good for Zoom, naturally).

Good article a few weeks old.  Regardless of your feeling regarding climate change or the use case of gas versus electric, $277 more a month is a lot for many households.

Here's why people aren't buying EVs in spite of price cuts and tax breaks

"EV inventories have increased by 506% from a year ago, with EVs sitting on lots for longer, according to CarGurus’ October report, released this month. EVs sit on the market an average 82 days versus 64 days for gas-powered vehicles...."

".....the new average EV list price was 28% higher than a gas vehicle last month, CarGurus said. That brings the cost for a 60-month loan with an interest rate of near 8% on an average new EV to $277 more a month than a gas car, it said."

I remember this discussion around the vaccine in late 2020 and being told by my cousins in NY that I was dumb to believe that a government would stop people from going places if not vaccinated. They of course all had that happen to them, but I did not, you enjoy your limitations, I will remain free here inFL.

Hertz dumping 20,000 EVs is a warning to electric-car owners everywhere

"Hertz is backtracking on its big EV bet.

Hertz said expensive repairs helped inform its decision to downsize its EV fleet.  The move warns potential EV owners about "hidden" costs.  Repairs for EVs can cost more than those for gas-powered cars.

The car-rental firm said it's selling 20,000 EVs — about one-third of its electric fleet of Teslas, Volvos, Polestars, and more — partly due to repair and maintenance costs.  It's a big blow to the EV industry, which is already in the throes of slowing growth as the waves of early adopters dry up and prices remain stubbornly high for potential new buyers.

In a Thursday note to clients, Adam Jonas, the head of auto and space research at Morgan Stanley, called the move "another sign that EV expectations need to be reset downward across the market."  It's also a warning about the cost of EV ownership to drivers thinking about switching from gas to electric.

"While consumers enjoy the driving experience and fuel savings (per mile) of an EV, there are other 'hidden' costs to EV ownership," Jonas added, citing insurance, repairs, charging infrastructure, residual-value retention, and range anxiety.

Repairs are one of the biggest culprits contributing to a higher cost of ownership for EV drivers.

Mitchell, which supplies data for insurance and repair companies, has found EVs — and particularly Teslas — are more expensive than gas-powered cars to repair. The firm said repairs in the third quarter of 2023 cost an average of $5,552 for Teslas, $4,474 for other EVs, and $4,205 for everything else, according to Kelley Blue Book and Automotive News."
