stevestojan Posted Thursday at 04:20 PM Posted Thursday at 04:20 PM Imagine being the backup QBs on that squad or PS QBs on other teams. “Jones got hurt, it might be my time to shine!” Nah, we’re going to bring back the guy who retired 5 years ago who doesn’t know how much he currently weighs. 1 Quote

TheFunPolice Posted Thursday at 05:59 PM Posted Thursday at 05:59 PM I'm hoping it goes better than expected, or even really well, so that it happens again in the future with other guys. 1 Quote

I'll be the first to say I don't want to say Philip Rivers is going to will them to a Super bowl... YET... He will be able to get them a win to get them into the playoffs and play better than most will realize from a 44-year-old man who hasn't played in like five years As a student of the game I go back to listening to Tom Brady who I despise as a Bills fan but I respect The mantra and the Michigan quarterback room for decades... Mental is to the physical as four is to one Just break that down and think about it... Even as the body breaks down as a quarterback your mental game will will you further than any physical ability if you have that mental ability... Bodies have deteriorated around great quarterbacks and they still get it done.. great do Somebody like Cam Newton wants his body deteriorated yes he lost his game cuz it was all built on that... I believe Josh has more than just the physical side And Philip Rivers has that in spades As long as he's physically able to take a hit.. and they will protect him... And I'm sure defenders don't want to kill him either He has the quick release and the mental processing to always find the check down... They're going to run Jonathan Taylor and he's going to hit check Downs all day and then rip a seam route I'm excited to watch Philip 2 1 Quote

I'll bet Brady could suit up and look the exact same as he did 3 years ago. Good points about Rivers too! If somehow the Colts make it in and we don't go all the way I would be rooting for Rivers just because, what a crazy, insane, storyline. Edited yesterday at 03:41 PM by TheFunPolice 1 Quote

TheWei44 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Rooting for him for sure, as long as it doesn't hurt or impact the Bills. Great story. Consistent with this wild season! 1 Quote
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago This is going to be the exciting to watch all season. I bet he does solidly well and they win. Something like 175-200 yards passing, 65% completion rate, and no negative plays. 1 Quote

zow2 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Just my opinion, but this is disrespectful to the game to start a guy out of 5-year retirement over some younger guys that have been grinding all season. That being said, the last time we saw Rivers in the WC game at Buffalo, I thought he played really well. I was kind of surprised he walked away after that, so maybe he does have something left. We shall see. Quote

Mike in Horseheads Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago The Indianapolis Colts will start 44-year-old quarterback Philip Rivers against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, a league source told The Athletic. Rookie sixth-round pick Riley Leonard will be his backup. On Wednesday, Rivers ended his nearly half-decade retirement and officially signed with the Colts’ practice squad. Quote
