This has to be some kind of 3-dimensional chess move, where the end game is to void Watson’s contract.  Because it’s the Browns, the move is likely to backfire spectacularly.

At one point, observers thought Geno Smith was dusted.  Surprise!  Never say never.   However, it's hard to imagine that Watson comes out of his extended hiatus without a thick coating of rust.  It is also hard to believe that adding Watson would do good things to team chemistry.

This was inevitable and predictable.

What's hilarious is that the Browns, possibly more than any franchise aside from the Jets, can't get the QB position right and now they have the two most divisive, controversial QBs in the NFL on the same roster.

You can't make this stuff up.

I don't think that Sanders is particularly divisive or controversial to his teammates.   He's got some significant physical limitations as well as some terrible tendencies for a pro QB, but he seems to be improving and to be capable of motivating his teammates.

 What's even crazier is that I believe that they were paying like five/six QBs at one time this season.

Joe Flacco
Dillon Gabriel
Kenny Pickett
Shedeur Sanders
Deshaun Watson

Bailey Zappe too?

Just think, in the 2018 NFL draft, Cleveland not only passed on Josh Allen with the first overall pick. They also had a second shot with the number four pick. Baker Mayfield #1 and Denzel Ward #4. Thank you, Cleveland Clowns...the factory of sadness!

Right.

In baseball, my team is the Colorado Rockies. (Like being a Bills fan in the drought, but worse)

They stupidly signed former Cubs MVP Kris Bryant to a long-term contract. Shortly after the signing he was diagnosed with a degenerative back condition. He's played a bit over the last 3 years and he's been awful. It's obvious to everyone that he's done.

But they keep making him come to spring training and going through the pretense that he may play again. Otherwise they'd have to waive him and pay his entire contract. They clearly want him to retire and come off the books, but why would he do that with $60 million still waiting. I don't know the particulars of Watson's contract, but I imagine there's a reason they're going through this song and dance.

The funniest part is, if they had stuck with Baker after he played hurt the season before, they may have even succeeded in finding their franchise QB.  Mayfield should send them a Thank You card every Christmas for screwing him over in the short term so that he could succeed in the long term.

Send it 'postage due'. 😁

Not to his teammates but the sheer amount of drama surrounding him involving the media and the fans and even the front office... wow.

Talk about drafting a distraction...

They got enough draft ammo to pick no.1.  It should be interesting. It would be funny if Watson rattles of a few wins and drops them a bit.

We owe watson.  I hope he starts and we wreck him

True, but objectively the Browns owe the Bills one as well, that game moved to Detroit was one of the strangest things I've ever seen.

Before anybody jumps on me, remember McD was being interviewed from his office on a Thursday, saying something like "I don't know what the league will do," ....uh, how about getting out of town for an epic snowstorm to Pittsburgh or Washington? Outdoor venues for outdoor teams that were available that weekend.

The NFL screwed that one up, gave the Bills a huge edge. Just my opinion.

He's one of the best CBs in football in case you missed it.

Take that automatic win off of your calendar.

The Bills are supposedly in the Super Bowl mix from the AFC and we're supposed to be scared of Deshaun Watson in what could be a must win game?  Dude might be terrible.  He hasn't played in a long time and he wasn't looking very good last time anyone saw him play.

Shouldn't be an automatic win, period. Their defense is legit good and Judkins is a superstar in the making at RB. If the Browns come in and play sound defense and pound the rock, they very well could win that game. Definitely a team we need to score early on and force Sanders or whoever is taking snaps that day have to throw to come back.

I think everyone watching the NFL this year, especially Bills fans, know is no such thing as an "automatic win".  We learned that, AGAIN after the Miami debacle.
