I didn't think much of it, until I looked closer.  Yes, they're chasing us for Wild Card, but then I looked at other Wild Card teams in the standings.

We have a two-game lead on them, Chiefs and Ravens.  We already own tie-breakers with the Chiefs and Ravens.  With those tie-breakers, a win this Thurs. effectively gives us a three-game cushion.  More so, should we end up with a three or four way tie, we'd still own the tie-breaker, as we would have beaten all of them head-to-head.

Now, don't get me wrong, I still want the division, and haven't given up on that, but a win Thurs. would give us a lot of security for at least making the playoffs.

I'd love to see another wide open performance by Allen.  Let's not give the Texans a chance to get into any kind of rhythm, make them play from behind immediately

Texans have a pretty tough slate coming up after us including both games against the Colts still, Chiefs and Chargers.

Obviously, we need to win the game. But it kinda sucks that beating the Texans helps move the Chiefs and Ravens closer to the playoffs.

Yea there’s a bit of a silver lining if we were to lose although obviously we don’t want to lose 😂. Adding the Texans into the wildcard race definitely hurts the chiefs.  Ravens will probably win the division though unfortunately

For me it's simple and comes down to 2 things.

1.  I need to erase that 9 for 30 performance.

2. Show me this offense, specifically the passing offense can get it done against an elite defense, and it will go a long way for my psyche, as it relates to Superbowl aspirations for this year.

The Bills need to get a win and head to the "mini-bye" get to 8-3. It would keep the Bills in the division race and it would also help this team to escape with an away game win and head to a few extra days rest. This is going to be the Bills last chance at extra rest before the playoffs (barring a possible meaningless week 18 which is possible if the Bills are locked in a 5 seed if NE keeps beating up on their soft schedule) so if they can get a win and escape somewhat healthy that would be huge extra rest for a stretch run.

They are down two games in the division. Every game is huge.

Not only do I want this team to "keep pace" in the division but I also would if this team has to be a wildcard team have them be locked into the 5 seed and in a completely meaningless week 18 so they can get a pesudo bye before the playoffs which is a massive advantage to have. If they want to have a locked in wildcard they will have to have a big record even if they can't catch New England.

I am all about odds and percentages even though i suck at maths. If the Bills handle business this Thursday, I think it’s all but a guarantee that they make it in. I wonder what the % of 7-3 edit: 8-3 teams end up missing the postseason? It’s gotta be insanely low.

the 131 hours between 1pm sunday and when the texans game is over will basically decide if we are in a great position to take the division an still vie for the 1 seed, or are counting our blessings with tie breakers as we hope for a wild card spot.

since miami we have turned the ball over 6 times (on like what, 125 snaps?  that's an insane rate) and allowed nearly 400 yards rushing, and we have lots of key guys hurt or playing hurt.  we are kinda (ironically) in our typical post season form already, so if we can overcome it then maybe the bright lights won't blind us again.

texans is basically a must win.

The rushing offense last week was suspect outside of Josh.  Hopefully the OLINE can get right this week or else Josh is gonna face a persistent pass rush.  Bills giving up way too many sacks this year (20 and counting).  If Mills is the QB, that simplifies the LBs job as a spy is likely unnecessary.
