What a surprise, the Chiefs are looking great again. Can't see anyone in the AFC beating them in the playoffs. And now with Rice back they'll get better and better. I say save the rest of the teams from injury and just put the Chiefs in the Super Bowl now. Everyone else is basically screwed until Reid retires

Mostly due to injuries, their kneecap biting wasn't up to par tonight. The Lions have really been bitten by injuries 2 years in a row.

Good question and it's hard to say.

 

Obviously one of his mentors is Dan Campbell whose greatest influences are Parcells and Payton but Ben Johnson also worked for Mike Sherman, Joe Philbin, and Mike Mc Coy so he also comes from the Walsh/Holmgren tree.

 

I think the creativity largely comes from Campbell. It's really impressive that after only 4 years, he's had 2 Coordinators get Head Coaching jobs.

 

Campbell is a great Head Coach IMO.

The thing about that illegal procedure call is if you ask "what is the spirit (intention) of the law?" it's "to slow things down so the officials don't become confused" which is to say that there's no good reason Goff shouldn't be allowed to go in motion... he was already set under center. Yeah, Detroit's lost 5 CBs so far this season. Their effort was great but the cards were stacked against them.

I grew up on all of the Lombardi Mythology and between that and the small market thing and the idea of the team being owned by the community, I've always been a Packers fan (secondary to the Bills). That said, the Pack has 4 Super Bowl wins and the Lions have never even been to one.

 

After the Bills, the next team I'd like to see win one is definitely the Lions.

• Dolphins beat the Chargers

This is the best offense they have had in a number of years. Once Rice is back especially. Hollywood, Worthy, Rice, JuJu and Thornton is their best wide receiving corps of the Mahomes era, even if it isn't quite like having prime age elite Hill and Kelce as they did 4 or 5 years ago.

Was it just me, or did the Lions look an awful lot like the Bills against the Chiefs last night? Their offense featured tons of short throws including multiple WR screens thrown behind the line of scrimmage. And the Lions secondary was playing so far back there were some replays where it looked like they didn’t have eleven guys out there. Ugh!

There’s just no way. He never had control, and has it pinned against his left hand and right wrist. Then his hand completely leaves the ball and is trapped by the ground. If they review it with that angle, it’s incomplete for sure.

They didn't have zero penalties. A couple were declined. 

 

The refs obviously made a mistake on the Kelce "catch." Mistakes happen. I see them in every game I watch. 

 

When the Chiefs are on the wrong side of a 13-4 flagfest...crickets. Zero claims of "rigged." But when it's 4 flags to 2 in their favor, there's an obvious agenda. Funny how that works, eh?

and the ruling was defended by the NFL officiating expert during the broadcast. The picture above clearly shows it was not complete.

You have no idea what was said throughout the game. But, sure...side with the guy who's racked up almost $120,000 in fines in two years, and punched Smith-Schuster. No doubt he's a victim.
