I don't think we need to pretend KC is more than what they are. They're a very very well coached team that isn't going to beat themselves, but they also have a few critical roster deficiencies which means all of their wins are going to be tight. And unlike last year they don't have the magical ability to pull every single one of them out at the end.  I'd still bet on them to win their division because LA and Denver just don't look up to the challenge, but I'll be very surprised if they're the #1 seed.  Probably won't get the 1 seed due to a brutal schedule, but this is a better team than last year's, and could ultimately become their best in several years. 2 Quote
RobbRiddick Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago What a surprise, the Chiefs are looking great again. Can't see anyone in the AFC beating them in the playoffs. And now with Rice back they'll get better and better. I say save the rest of the teams from injury and just put the Chiefs in the Super Bowl now. Everyone else is basically screwed until Reid retires 1 1 Quote

Love the creativity I see out of that system.  Good question and it's hard to say.  Obviously one of his mentors is Dan Campbell whose greatest influences are Parcells and Payton but Ben Johnson also worked for Mike Sherman, Joe Philbin, and Mike Mc Coy so he also comes from the Walsh/Holmgren tree.  I think the creativity largely comes from Campbell. It's really impressive that after only 4 years, he's had 2 Coordinators get Head Coaching jobs.  Campbell is a great Head Coach IMO.  8 hours ago, BuffaloBillsGospel2014 said: These rules just get dumber and dumber.  The thing about that illegal procedure call is if you ask "what is the spirit (intention) of the law?" it's "to slow things down so the officials don't become confused" which is to say that there's no good reason Goff shouldn't be allowed to go in motion... he was already set under center. He shouldn't have to re-set again IMO.  8 hours ago, Marcus Aurelius said: I was thinking about a recent thread: "Officiating college vs pros" By Ethan in Cleveland  @Ethan in Cleveland  8 hours ago, JakeFrommStateFarm said: I asked AI  AI Overview  The name Xavier has several pronunciations, but the most common in English is "ZAY-vee-er" or "ZAV-ier". In its original Basque region and Spanish, it is often pronounced closer to "Sha-vee-ay-r" or "Ha-vee-air," while in French, it's pronounced "Zah-vee-ay". Another pronunciation, sometimes used in the US, adds an "ex" sound at the beginning, making it "ex-ZAY-vee-er".  Quit playing with yourself!  8 hours ago, SirAndrew said: I agree, rules and as someone else pointed out, QB mobility these days. No thanks.  I grew up on all of the Lombardi Mythology and between that and the small market thing and the idea of the team being owned by the community, I've always been a Packers fan (secondary to the Bills). That said, the Pack has 4 Super Bowl wins and the Lions have never even been to one.  After the Bills, the next team I'd like to see win one is definitely the Lions.  6 hours ago, Fleezoid said: When I was a kid I asked for new Adidas and I got sneakers from the K-mart bin.  Liberty Shoes in the Airport Plaza. Not a bad week for us all things considered. Ravens lost and their season looks to be just about over, especially with Pittsburgh winning again. Bengals continue to show no life. KC won but so did Denver and LA so KC remains in 3rd place, and 3-3 is as good as we could have reasonably hoped for. Saints lost again so hopefully they will go into fire sale mode and hopefully we are the beneficiaries of that. Only result that really hurts is Indy pulling out a close one. They remain the biggest threat for the #1 seed IMO.  Things I would have liked to have seen: Jets beat the Broncos Cardinals beat the Colts Dolphins beat the Chargers Saints beat the Patriots Browns beat the Steelers Seahawks beat the Jaguars Lions beat the Chiefs  Edited 9 hours ago by Sierra Foothills 1 1 Quote

Once Rice is back especially. Hollywood, Worthy, Rice, JuJu and Thornton is their best wide receiving corps of the Mahomes era, even if it isn't quite like having prime age elite Hill and Kelce as they did 4 or 5 years ago. Edited 7 hours ago by GunnerBill 4 Quote

SoCal Deek Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Was it just me, or did the Lions look an awful lot like the Bills against the Chiefs last night? Their offense featured tons of short throws including multiple WR screens thrown behind the line of scrimmage. And the Lions secondary was playing so far back there were some replays where it looked like they didn’t have eleven guys out there. Ugh! 1 2 Quote

Here you can very clearly see his right hand completely come off the ball when it hits the ground. Would have been an easy no catch call on review.   Not to justify the reffing, but that is a catch in my book. His left hand had total control of the ball all the way through, and the fact that it hit the ground is irrelevant given the Bert Emmanuel rule. Players make one handed catches all the time, and that’s basically what Kelce did there. Quote

Then his hand completely leaves the ball and is trapped by the ground. If they review it with that angle, it’s incomplete for sure. 1 Quote

I see them in every game I watch.  When the Chiefs are on the wrong side of a 13-4 flagfest...crickets. Zero claims of "rigged." But when it's 4 flags to 2 in their favor, there's an obvious agenda. muppy Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago (edited) there is a rule against taunting in the NFL . If Mahomes runs his mouth as much as Im reading why is That never called?  I will look up the official rule for when taunting is called. and edit my post  Quote The NFL taunting rule prohibits "using baiting or taunting acts or words that may engender ill will between teams," a form of unsportsmanlike conduct. Penalties include a 15-yard penalty, potential ejection for repeated offenses, fines, and possible suspension from the commissioner's office. The rule covers gestures, words, and specific celebrations like a throat slash or sexually suggestive acts, and players can be flagged for actions like pointing or standing over an opponent.    hmmm  well Mahomes should have been called for taunting. He broke every facet of the rule. Edited 3 hours ago by muppy 1 Quote
