Happiest man on earth is Dicknose Wright who's going to have a bullhorn about Mahomes over Allen (and Lamar, etc) all week. 

 

That said, it's funny how the thumb on the scale during the game to allow the pre-programming before the game about Maye = Allen, on Maye's first prime time exposure, to manifest.

This is just a slap of reality and to remind everyone that this is why we love NFL football.  It’s unpredictable. honestly the Bills and other clubs should not be going 6-0 in division.  It should be hard like this.  Before the season i said we’d be 4-2 in division.  that’s still in play. The 1 seed is up for grabs as i dont think KC or anyone else will run away and hide.

Shakir is a good player,  but they don't have any decent boundary receivers.  That deficiency showed up tonight and it's particularly glaring given how Diggs torched them all night.

How many times tonight was he absolutely incredible evading defenders & buying time in the pocket?  And STILL when he threw it, it was to a guy who was completely covered.

 

Everyone is raving about Maye - and he earned it tonight - but his throws were often to guys who were wide, wide open.

 

That's the difference in a game like this. If we had even one guy who could separate, it's probably a comfy win.

 

 

Whilst I appreciate what you're saying, Josh didn't need the guy tonight. He just had to play methodically. Unfortunately he didn't at clutch points.

1st down: WR screen. Shakir drops it.

 

2nd down: Every single WR runs a route that is 10+ yards downfield. In fact, every WR is in the endzone when Coleman goes to catch the ball. Cook is the only person open short and it would have been for a 3 yard catch (and he would have been wrecked by the LB immediately).

 

3rd down: No one is open past the sticks. You wanted Allen to throw a 2 yard pass to Shavers, which would have given us 4th and 8?

 

 

 

 

Shakir probably had his worst sequence as a Bill right there.

You can add in not coming back for that outstanding 3rd down throw because he lost where he was on the field and wasn't conscientious about down/distance.

He makes that play and OT is the worst case scenario.

Many Bills fans like having a perennial playoff team and see a SB win as a nice bonus rather than the only ultimately satisfying outcome. Weird, but that is a actual viewpoint from some in this fanbase.

I'd rather trust Allen with one play to put them in a position to force the Patriots to have to score a Touchdown to beat us, with less time on the clock, than I would giving them the ball back with 2:20 and asking our walking wounded siv of a Defense to keep them out of Field Goal range where they all have to do is kick it and win.

 

You can talk about analytics all you want, but look at the result. It happened just as I expected it would when we did the "analytical" thing.
