Buffalo Boy Posted Sunday at 08:50 PM Posted Sunday at 08:50 PM My main new concern: We need to have someone other than Cook carry the ball once in a while. He’s got Great vision and I appreciate him for the weapon he is but it’s a long season. I understand that he is much better than Davis and Johnson but odds are he can’t keep this pace another 16-17 games if need be. I figure the rest of the obvious shortcomings have already been touched on 3 2 Quote

I wish they'd just make the switch and get Dorian of the field outside of ST. Very disappointed in Williams thus far. I thought he was going to take a few steps for. Quote

No_Matter_What Posted Sunday at 08:54 PM Posted Sunday at 08:54 PM 22 minutes ago, FireChans said: It’s comical at this point. See you in April when you start to believe that Beane has learned his lesson and he spends another couple premium picks to make healthy scratches on the DL. He’ll throw like $8M AAV at some JAG WR and we’ll all hope and pray This offseason he had ONE, I repeat ONE option to do what you want him to do - trade for Metcalf. And we have no idea if that trade was even on the table for the Bills. Maybe he didn't want to go to Buffalo. We don't know. And it would still require crazy contract. Or tell me what other options Beane had. I am not saying it was completely impossible to do something, but it's not like Beane had a ton of options and decided to ignore them. 1 Quote
Roundybout Posted Sunday at 08:54 PM Posted Sunday at 08:54 PM This game was like the ikea cabinet I installed while the game was on: Got a couple pieces missing, incredibly frustrating, but the job got done 3 5 Quote
Special K Posted Sunday at 08:55 PM Posted Sunday at 08:55 PM The Bishop INT was the play of the game, IMO.......if the Saints score a TD there, who knows what would've happened. 5 5 Quote
steven50 Posted Sunday at 08:55 PM Posted Sunday at 08:55 PM I think some of you guys are forgetting Ed Oliver and Milano were out and Hoecht and Ogunjobi are still not playing. After the week 7 bye the defense should be very different. 2 Quote

Nihilarian Posted Sunday at 08:55 PM Posted Sunday at 08:55 PM When opposing teams play Buffalo, it's their Super Bowl because the Bills have been a playoff team for years now and have the league's MVP. I think the Buffalo defense will improve as the season goes on, considering how banged up the secondary was to start the season. Milano, Oliver, and Spencer Brown were out. Plus, guys are still learning the system, and some on suspension will return. Stay positive! 1 Quote
KOKBILLS Posted Sunday at 08:57 PM Posted Sunday at 08:57 PM I know...I know... A wins a win... And I am very happy they are 4-0... I just don't know how long they can keep this up on D... The Bills have one of the best Offenses in the NFL... No team is going to stop them all game... IMHO... Just on the eyeball test, this Saints D looked considerably better than the Bills D today. They were flying around and playing physical. There is not a ton of talent over there. Their D-line is pretty good. Maybe the Bills are similarly talent challenged? I'm not sure... But maybe... Horseshoes and hand grenades aside for a second... We got a pick at the goal line. And that was on a one handed amazing INT by Bishop that easily could have been a TD if the ball is thrown a little higher... Cooks dropped a tough ball, but it was catchable for a TD... And he was wide open. They missed a 2-point conversion...and the Saints still have 19 points... They could easily... EASILY have had 32 points... Like they were inches away from 32 points... AT BUFFALO. Not to mention another roughing penalty that helped make it easier to close the game out. I know we'll be better with Ed and Milano... But how much better? And can Matt stay healthy anymore? Because Dorian Williams is a liability... He's just not good enough. Maybe with Max, Ogunjobi, and especially Hoecht they close the gap... Maybe Sanders and Walker improve by the end of the year and don't hit the rookie wall... Maybe Landon Jackson can come in and contribute down the stretch... Maybe Jordan Hancock can help? None of that addresses the terrible tackling by the guys playing now. None of it addresses the fact that for the better part of 3 plus quarters there is no pass rush from the guys playing now... None of it addresses the fact that receivers are constantly wide open in zones and rarely contested. This has been an issue going back to 2023 for this Defense. Offensive Coordinators know where the gaps are... The cushions are generous... And all too often tackles are missed or even when they are made the offensive players are able to gets a couple extra yards on the contact... It's a tough way to live on D... It's a lot of maybe's on that side... But honestly...In my gut... I'm not feeling it on that side... Feels like last year... And come Playoff time it's going to be trouble. But today it's 4-0 and on to NE... 2 1 1 3 1 Quote
RichRiderBills Posted Sunday at 08:58 PM Posted Sunday at 08:58 PM I agree. We need to get Davis some reps. I know he hasn't dazzled but we need to spell cook. Long season. A few of my additional thoughts: Groot a couple solid run fills but MIA for most of the game. Bosa good , bad and elite. He whiffs on some contain. But he is a closer. INT was bad call and bad sequence by Brady. Going for deep shot on 3rd and 10 in own end was just silly. Rattler was tough and Saints played tough. They are closer to decent than the obnoxious spread. Our defense to me looks like it is often " outflanked" especially....big trouble with contain and QB contain on decent pressure. I don't feel we get pushed around or dominated though. 3 Quote

That is exactly what this offense is missing to put them over the top. It'll be interesting to see the all 22 but I suspect it's going to confirm another week of cover 2 and 3 shells. Josh was a little less disciplined taking the underneath stuff this week and we had some protection issues. Hard to pull off 80 yard pass plays like that, though i agree we don't have anyone that takes the top off a defense. Quote
HappyDays Posted Sunday at 09:01 PM Posted Sunday at 09:01 PM 3 minutes ago, BillnutinHouston said: Maybe Hoecht, Hairston and Ogunjobi? Hoecht is the only one of those that I expect to make an impact this year. Ogunjobi looked like a JAG in preseason and Hairston is going to have trouble finding his way onto the field. Would love to be wrong on at least that last point though. The biggest concern to me is the defensive coaching which has shown no signs of improvement from last year. And that's what kills us in the playoffs every year. The 3rd down defense if anything looks even worse and those plays a lot of times are about their OC vs your DC. 5 1 Quote

DapperCam Posted Sunday at 09:04 PM Posted Sunday at 09:04 PM Really felt like our team thought they could just show up and win. And they were correct… 3 Quote
PoundingDog Posted Sunday at 09:04 PM Posted Sunday at 09:04 PM Without Bishop's INT, we might've had to do a comeback second half. Speaking of Bishop, that got to be a huge confidence boost for his young career. Definitely his first biggest play in NFL. It showed why the Bills wanted him in the 2nd round and even looked to trade up for him, as he disgnosed the slowing develping play correctly. I just hope he gets to ID the faster developing plays faster. 4 Quote
