"It's two teams playing each other, and I think generally if you have success in one place against an opponent, over time you do have a confidence whether it's real or not real, it doesn't matter -- you do. And then, consequently, people can have a chip on their shoulder on the losing end of it. "The bottom line is, is all of it is semantics. It's two football teams playing -- one on the road, one at home -- but the individuals are always different and the more you can recognize that and take each game unto itself and alone, by itself, you're shortchanging the process and you'll ultimately fall victim to it. I think over time you have to take each game, each opponent, each opportunity in the National Football League, solely focus on it and everything else makes you worse in focus, preparation and execution." He just seems to contradict himself in every sentence (in addition to talking bollox) Give me our McD over theirs, anyday I read this thinking it must have taken him 5 minutes to get through that whole thing. It's a short week which tends to make coaches be conservative about injuring and McDermott already tends that way. While it's never good, if there's a game to give them rest it's this one: Miami doesn't really have possession receivers or a prolific TE and its OL is beat up hell. I can see us rolling out a heavier Dime with Rapp/Bishop acting as LB while Taron helps with Hill 1 Quote

zow2 Posted September 17 Posted September 17 I think Miami throws the kitchen sink at the Bills early, and uses all their misdirection and speed. It will be interesting to see if Tua can get the ball out of his hand fast enough. In the end Miami won't be able to stop the Buffalo offense.. I see the game being a bit higher scoring than people expect, something like 37-24 Bills. 1 Quote
billieve420 Posted September 17 Posted September 17 Divisional game against desperate opponent and on a short week. All recipes for disaster but I think Bills should get it done. There is no reason to not be undefeated going into that KC game. Don't want to hear any excuses about not getting that #1 seed this year which I believe is critical for the Bills to reach the Super Bowl. Quote

This leaves them not much money for oline and defense and it shows. I think Miami more or less has to have really talented skill position players because Tua isn't good enough to make average ones better if they want to be an offensive juggernaut. They're in "QB Purgatory " because they paid Tua like a 1st tier QB, and he's not that. I think they miscalculated about how far a pass heavy offense could get them. Cincinnati, OTOH, is getting exactly what Mike Brown wants: an exciting team to put butts in the seats and sell lots of merchandise with an escape clause if/when his first tier QB gets sidelined for weeks/months/season. Nobody's going to remember that Cinci's defense can't stop anybody. 58 minutes ago, Jauronimo said: I think a very intelligent person would form at least one coherent sentence or at least approach a point with as many words. Many very intelligent people's brains work significantly faster than they can speak, so the ideas just spill out. It can be corrected if the person works at it, but I think McDaniel has other priorities. Not everyone can be Sean McVay. Edited September 17 by SoTier Quote

This is a fair take but there is a huge difference between a "desperate" team and one that is injury riddled and falling apart. KC & Houston are desperate in every sense of the word and I would hate to be playing either this week. But the Dolphin injuries on their O line and in their secondary are substantial. Add to that is the fact that this is a short week with the game in Buffalo. Sure "on any given Sunday" applies here to but I'm having a hard time worrying about this game. 2 1 1 Quote

Unless the players have just given up and are willing to throw in the towel to get a new regime, I think they come out on fire with an extremely well-scripted first drive. Their plan will be to be physical, jump to an early lead and hope to quiet the crowd and shut Allen down long enough to get into the late 3rd quarter. So, the Bills just have to be prepared, focused and consistent. They can and will wear down the Dolphins.. .whether it takes 1 quarter or 3. 1 hour ago, SCBills said: Annoying to be down Oliver & Milano, but the Dolphins just put 2/5ths of their OL on IR, so I’m not going to complain too much. Re: Milano, it just makes me worried long term. This Defense has a ton of potential, but alot of relies on certain guys… Rapp, Milano, Taron, Bernard, Benford, Bosa staying healthy. Two games in and we’re already having to deal with missed games from Taron Johnson and Matt Milano. That being said.. very quickly it seems clear that the key to this defense is making sure Bosa and Benford are healthy in the Playoffs. We’ve never had a Bosa type power player at this level for the playoffs and Benford hasn’t be available in our Chiefs losses. If Beane hasn't already put his scouts on the alert to find a Milano and Taron replacement, I'd be surpeised. Both of those positions require fast, physical and smart players. And both of those players are showing decline.. Milano more so than Taron. But, it's definitely time to look for replacements. I would also suggest, even if Bishop improves all season, it's probably time to look for a Rapp replacement as well (although that could potentially still be a full year away). Quote
