Had to do a double take.  Seriously thought that was McDermott in the photo for some reason.

 

Anyway, I am all for getting better at punter.  Hopefully this guy is better.  As for all the other players they worked out, I am not sure what they are looking for specifically.  Would have been nice to get Peppers in here as I think he would have immediately become the best Safety in the room, but alas it wasn't meant to be.  At this point, I am all about Beane spending the next few weeks on the phone trying to find the most dominant run stuffing DT he can find.  We may not need him for a bit, but we will need him for the Playoffs.  So, Beane.....start shopping!

I wish we worried about defense as much as we worry about STs. Probably have 2 rings by now if there was an ounce of accountability on that side of the ball

Not sure they would do this type of thing over punter money. We have a punter problem but let’s wait until the season starts to save a few bucks if that new punter doesn’t work out either.

The Week 1 punting was indeed a problem. The Team ID a better kicker and the change may not have cost them an extra dime.  All-in-all, pretty good. 
 

As for safety, that’s a MUCH trickier issue.  Not so easy to upgrade/plug and play. Best to see how the next few weeks progress without making a rash (and potentially costly) change.
