Do that and we win. The Bills are the better team and should win, but it’s not as easy as that. First, that’s not the Buffalo defensive scheme, and second, Fields actually had a very good day throwing the ball against the Steelers and has a legit stud to throw to (Wilson). I think the Jets will score 20…the question is if they can score 30 because it’s hard to envision anyone keeping Allen & Co. from putting up that many points on a weekly basis. 1 1 Quote

He could help his poopy defense so much by just unleashing Allen early and often. Then they could run more and lean on teams with a lead in hand, if he insists. I see your point. But there's a reason why the Red Sea opened up for Allen in the fourth quarter, besides his inherent greatness: the defense was exhausted from defending the run. (TOP was 34:49-25-11.) Instead of a fast-paced shootout, McDermott evidently planned for the Bills D to be at least a speed bump (e.g., Henry had to slow down to stiff-arm Bishop into the turf /s) while the constant grinding on offense depleted their defense. But McDermott's brilliant strategy gave his team a 1% to win at the end, so you're dead right and he was dead wrong. Just because Allen bailed him out doesn't mean he shouldn't be held accountable. Can we get a new head coach, please? He's using his Maserati of a quarterback to drop off the recyclables and pick up the kids. Edited Wednesday at 12:33 PM by finn 1 2 1 Quote
Cray51 Posted Wednesday at 01:20 PM Posted Wednesday at 01:20 PM If the bills get out to a quick lead, this game is over early. Fields can’t run a quick offense through his arm. Quote
BillsFan130 Posted Wednesday at 01:34 PM Posted Wednesday at 01:34 PM Hoping Joe Brady starts to open it up earlier in the game and lets Josh sling it. I feel this is 4 games in a row now going back to the 3 playoff games last season where the bills offence has been conservative 3 3 1 Quote

They do but at least we got 1 weeks worth of tape of their new look offense and defense. We will be ok. Fields is no Lamar. I also don't think Pitts defense is the same standard as their defense of the past. Over on TheGangGreen.com, many Jests fans are expecting their boys to get steamrolled by the Bills: Quote It will probably be more of the same against Buffalo. They will turn the Jets over 2 or 3 times, draw some killer personal fouls, especially when the Jets try to hit or touch Josh Allen. Allen will have 2 tush push touchdowns and throw at least 1 up to that tall wideout who will bully the corner opposite Sauce Gardner for a touchdown. Bills cover the 8.5 spread easy TheGangGreen 1 Quote
DuckyBoys Posted Wednesday at 01:47 PM Posted Wednesday at 01:47 PM I think Brady has McDermott in his ear most of the game dictating I'd love a offensive head coach that would give the offense the go ahead to go balls out 1 1 1 Quote
SCBills Posted Wednesday at 01:57 PM Posted Wednesday at 01:57 PM Not sure I ever want to see another set of consecutive drives like we saw on Sunday Night after our TD drive. If McDermott is worried about his Defense, he’s a Defensive HC who just got multiple upgrades added to it this offseason. Fix it. Figure it out. Dont put our Offense is a bad position because you’re worried about your Defense. Jets have a similar Offense to the Ravens, and while they don’t have the Secondary Baltimore has, they have a stronger pass rush with Q and McDonald. Let the Offense cook from jump. I really want to see Keon, Palmer & Kincaid have a big game in structure on Sunday. Very bullish on our weapons, but with the caveat that we didn’t see it hum until backyard ball came out. 1 1 Quote
BearNorth Posted Wednesday at 01:58 PM Posted Wednesday at 01:58 PM FWIW PFF grades for week 1 - Jests have Hall, Sauce and RT Membou ranked 1st at their positions, and Quinnen Williams and Garret Wilson ranked 2nd. Bills only players ranked elite in week 1 are Ed Oliver [1st], Josh [4th?], and Keon [6th]. Josh is 9-4 vs. the Jets in his career, 4-2 at Met Life. Quote

In his PC yesterday Brady was asked about all the early screens and he said Josh checked to some of them. For the one Keon dropped he said that was a called play just to get the ball in Keons hands and get him involved Quote
Tulsabillsfanz Posted Wednesday at 02:59 PM Posted Wednesday at 02:59 PM Interesting stats from NFL week 1: Top scoring teams: 1. Buffalo 41 2. Baltimore 40 3. Pittsburgh 34 4. Indianapolis 33 5. NY Jets 32 The other 27 teams scored between 6 & 27 points, with an average of 17.8 points per team. The Bills & Jets games were by far the highest scoring games in week one. Defense will be the emphasis for both team’s practices this week. 1 2 Quote

You're ok with a speedbump defense and ball-control offense asking Allen to produce with less than 1% odds of succeeding? I mean, that's what happened Sunday, right? Allen and co. bailed the team out despite McDermott's approach to the game, not because of it. Quote

The players still need to play well, regardless of the approach. It was week 1, we DO have some undersized players on D, and the Ravens ARE a great team. We were always going to give up points and yards to the Ravens. We just were. Sure, lots of the D didn't play well, but again, I don't think it's because McDermott had a bad plan. 1 1 Quote

Gipson, who beat out undrafted rookie Jamaal Pritchett for the primary punt return role this summer, had a costly fumble on a kickoff return in Sunday’s season-opening loss to the Steelers. Gipson, who was filling in on kickoffs after primary kick returner Kene Nwangwu suffered a hamstring injury earlier in the game, lost a fumble when returning a kickoff in the fourth quarter. Pittsburgh, who had cut the Jets’ lead to two before that kickoff, scored another touchdown two plays after the fumble to take a five-point lead. The Steelers, led by former Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, eventually won 32-30. Quote

All position groups played a role, and they are not happy right now. There will not be a letdown or complacency when they take the field against the Jets. - The offense is looking at their first half three-and-out lull, preparing an improved plan to avoid those momentum breakers. I expect a fired-up Bills team in the Meadowlands, determined to show they are better than the first 52 minutes of the Ravens game indicated. The Jets are about to have a bad day. Also, the ultimate look-at-me-post (LAMP) is, "I have a bad feeling about this game." This comes from the Karens of football fandom, wanting to show they care more. 1 2 Quote
