Personally, I loved it. People got to see Josh Allen the goofball and Josh Allen the master technician. They got to see how a tight-knit professional organization is run. They got some Dion goofiness. They got some “hard knocks” stories seeing Davidson, Hamler, and Rogers get lots of air time and then be cut. 
 

I loved the D line dinner in last night’s episode and seeing Daquan’s character and heart. 
 

Some of you guys are just miserable ****s, truthfully. 

 

Yes, Hard Knocks isn't for the die hard fans who follow every bit of Bills content on the web.  I think HBO did Buffalo a favor by focusing on how much the players love the team, city, and culture.  It was nice that our front office and coaching staff weren't caught looking like buffoons and instantly memed as well.

 

My only problem with the show was the ending.  Talk about cop outs, ending on a cliff hanger is pure hackery.  How does the season end $#!@#holes?!?

I was struck by how little they showed of Keon Coleman, as like many of us, I was expecting him to be featured, perhaps as much as Dawkins was. But in retrospect, I realize that very few starters, or established core players, were featured at all-- the exceptions being the O-line (minus Spencer Brown), Josh Allen, Ed Oliver, and a couple very brief interviews with Cook, and Benford. 

 

But no Coleman, no Kincaid, or Knox, no Shakir, No Milano, or Bernard, no Taron Johnson, and no Groot, or Epinesa.

 

Also, no rookies!

 

The whole series was basically focused on the O-line, and D-line as units (with no focus on the aforementioned), and bubble players who had especially steep paths to make the roster. 

 

Personally, I loved the series. And I'm glad that Beane/McDermott kept their cards so close to the vest.

I didn't bother to watch it.  Seems the consensus was I didn't miss much.

 

 

Admittedly I'm the type of person where if it showed the Bills as a bunch of party animals, I'd be complaining to focus more.

 

If it showed the Bills as boring (which seems a bit of the consensus) I'd be complaining they lack any sort of character.

Finally caught up on the last episode last night.

 

After decades of hand-wringing about what a distraction being on Hard Knocks would be, the Bills managed to put out the most boring, least intrusive season in Hard Knocks history.

 

Lot of good stuff from a hype stand point. That opening episode still has me juiced.

 

My one major take away is: How about that Josh Allen? What a personality! The dude is "always on". Can sit down for any interview and jump right in with witty answers. Gives everyone the same level of engagement in every interaction whether he's talking to Terry Pegula or some random fan.

 

I still cant believe he is "our guy"... 😍

Seems like the team put some serious restrictions on the filming crew vs. the level of access we have seen in prior seasons. They didn't film guys getting released, there wasn't a camera glued to Beane while he was actively negotiating with Cook's reps, and we didn't see the GM, coach, and owner interacting talking personnel and dropping PFF stats. It made for more boring television and I have no issues with that.

I enjoyed the season. Like some others have said I was also happy for the level of boring stuff as that meant no drama.

 

A little bit of an inside look at the way the team operates and a good amount of player personality fluff, basically a much better produced version of Embedded.

I loved the song at the end and how they mixed in "Where would you rather be then right here right now".

 

Very Vanilla hard knocks.  We don't have much drama on this team.  It was saved for your momma.

I’m not going to lie I liked this last episode. Do I wish they’d show more inside the cuts, of course! But for what they were giving us I enjoyed it. Josh is genuinely an awesome dude on and off the field and the whole team seems like a family. Go bills! Let’s finally get past the chiefs and win one!

In the preseason Bears game episode- it’s the first time I think I’ve ever heard Matt Milano speak.  Bills starters were watching from sidelines, and someone said “Wow Chicago is up 20 points”. Matt said “that’s unbelievable”.  Or to that effect.  I was shocked to hear Matt Speak lol

Ngl I totally forgot it was on. I need to go back and watch but it really was pretty boring. I enjoy the embedded episodes more
