I wouldn't expect that. Hollins started 15 games for us last season. Our "new Hollins" is Joshua Palmer.

 

Is he WR5 or WR6? Because we're not going to dress 6 WR's on Game Day. I'm excited for the kid that the kid made it. But I don't see him getting many opportunities, unless there's injuries and probably multiple. The focus of the passing attack from the WR position is going to be Shakir, Palmer, and Coleman. Samuel, if he can stay healthy, will be our all over the field gadget player. 

 

Again, happy for Shavers. But if you're expecting he's going to be on the field a ton and going to be putting up big numbers - I think you're setting yourself up for disappointment.

I’m not sure if they’re necessarily an outlier here, but observing a nice little trend of this regime being able to develop talent on the practice squad. 
 

Cam Lewis (19-21), Ja’Marcus Ingram (22-23) and Tyrell Shavers (23-24) are examples of guys who have now spent multiple years on the Bills practice squad only to break through and make the 53-man roster. Alec Anderson and Ryan Van Demark spent all of 2022 on the Practice Squad. 
 

It’s what it is there for, would be very curious what this looks like for other teams since the size increases to 16 in 2020.

 

EDIT: I’m going to dig into this out of personal curiosity. That being said, a quick glance at practice squads from 2020 - 2024 tells me that what the Bills have done with Lewis, Ingram and Shavers is actually somewhat unique.

It'll be interesting - if he turns into a core ST player, then he'll dress a lot more than he won't and I would expect that to mean that players like Moore or Samuel may be inactive on gameday.  Samuel you can probably count on being hurt or dealing with some type of nagging injury throughout the season.

I guess we'll see.  We have exactly 1 proven WR, and that's Shakir. Everyone else is potentially good at this point
