I agree. The episode felt more like a marketing gimmick than some past seasons. Left me wondering if there was an effort to move away from following fringe roster players to stars. Felt a little hollow but maybe I’m too close 🤷‍♂️

It was boring as can be and I'm a Bills fan.  Imagine how it was to the rest of the country.

Training with a python seems correct for dealing with how the KC OL "blocks"

Next episode he'll be fighting through seaweed

I Googled The Wire, thanks. It had some good reviews, I will check it out.

I lived in the Baltimore area for four years, so it may stir memories.

The early seasons of The Wire are lit.  The season where they move from the street corners to the port and the season they focus on the Baltimore Sun were okay, but don't come close to matching the seasons based on the street corners.  Still one of my all time favorite series.  If you lived in B'more you will certainly recognize some of the places they shot the series.  I've been here since 1991 and never knew that there were East and West side turfs and gangs.

My daughter used to work at Pittsford Farms Dairy - the ice cream place featured.  Players have loved that place for years.

The Tre Day Sundae looked good.

I'm betting that was all worked out beforehand and played out for cameras.

iirc they usually delve a little more into a couple fringe roster guys, develop backstories to generate some tension around cutdown...maybe they're trying something new

usually the team featured wasn't successful the year before, for this very reason.  but they're running low on teams I think and sentiment for the Bills is high right now so...

Of course...everything is choreographed...Dion drifting with his kids...Tre running up a hill after ice cream...AJ the Python hunter...it's TV....the last 3 episodes should be juicier.

I'll be honest, it was a little boring. Future episodes can't be like that. Hopefully, they actually go into more details and behind the scenes stuff in future episodes. The Bills hype stuff doesn't interest me all that much anymore.

I’ve never been one for reality TV, and I’m afraid this may be a gateway show. Will I end up watching Naked and Afraid next? It’s just not worth the risk….

You seem more like a Love Island guy

I think they do that with other teams, as they are usually not that good so with the Bills being a stable and generally good team, it may feel a bit different. (based on what the interview videos with the lead director said kinda paraphrased that)

Yeah, I may have quit the series after season 2 at the docks if I hadn’t heard the praise. I snoozed through that one, but seasons 3 and 4 more than made up for it.

Yeah, there is far less drama in the building of a well-established, successful team (credit McBeane) then with the Jets, or the 0-16 Browns, or even Jerry and the Cowboys.

They'll find the cut-down drama because that is just a natural part of the pre-season.

Other than that, it is basically showing the rest of the country and 31 other NFL teams what makes the Bills team and org so special. They all WISH they could be like this.

Pretty cool.  Not sure I’d put little kids in a drifting car like that.  Loved the stuff about Tre.

in a front seat too! If that car has air bags and they are deployed, it could kill his kids.

Watched it again today.  Great stuff.  Brady is a funny guy, and I enjoy hearing the “real” language.  Can’t wait for next week!

This is exactly right.  Usually the team highlighted is a s-h-i-t-show.  They’re probably amazed at how smoothly things go here.  The Cook thing will give them a little juice for next week, but even that isn’t particularly dramatic.

I was thinking the same thing as I watched it. A bit reckless.
