Maine-iac Posted Sunday at 04:10 PM Posted Sunday at 04:10 PM So they have a "legit" reason to shut down their best WR through some meaningless games. Sounds perfect to me. As long as he's ready for the regular season. More reps for whoever is expected to play behind Shakir. Hopefully Moore can step in and show something. 1 Quote
Rocky Landing Posted Sunday at 04:13 PM Posted Sunday at 04:13 PM Shakir does not need another minute of practice before the season starts. I hope they don't let him back on the field until he's 100%, even if it means missing the first game or two. Better to miss some early games than have this injury linger. 2 1 Quote

oldmanfan Posted Sunday at 04:31 PM Posted Sunday at 04:31 PM For those saying the amount of injuries are absurd, how would you fix it? Shakir likely came down wrong on his foot to get a high ankle sprain. Not much the training staff can do there. I am all for having good stretching programs, and I am sure a professional training staff has those in place. This is just rotten luck in some cases. Quote
Mat68 Posted Sunday at 04:33 PM Posted Sunday at 04:33 PM Give or take week 1. He has the most chemistry with Allen. Opens up reps for Palmer, Moore and Keon. Quote
Big Turk Posted Sunday at 04:46 PM Posted Sunday at 04:46 PM Better now than during the season. Although this is the type of thing that can take almost the whole season to get right unless it's managed properly. Quote

Believe you’re thinking of the normal sprain where the ankle bends outward. A high ankle operates the opposite direction, where the ankle bends inward, toward the other leg. Also believe I read that Shakir got rolled up on during a running play. Probably an offensive lineman rolled into his leg. Quote
Johnnycage46 Posted Sunday at 04:57 PM Posted Sunday at 04:57 PM Damn. Well hopefully this doesn't linger all year. I would rather him miss more time if it means he is 100%+ than come back and have it nag at him all year. Quote

None of these injuries are their fault, not even soft tissue ones like hamstring pulls and strains. The staff can only do so much, ultimately it’s on the player to increase flexibility throughout the year and not just in camp. 2 Quote

Process Posted Sunday at 05:09 PM Posted Sunday at 05:09 PM 5 weeks seems to just be a guess based on when the season starts. High ankles are usually a few weeks. Glad he has some extra time to (hopefully) get back to 100% Quote
HOUSE Posted Sunday at 05:09 PM Posted Sunday at 05:09 PM This reminds me of Home Depot, half of the employees are in the back faking injuries 2 Quote

Miyagi-Do Karate Posted Sunday at 05:22 PM Posted Sunday at 05:22 PM I don’t think these ankle injuries “linger,” like some are saying. The reason they seem like they do is players in season try to push it and come back when they aren’t 100% and so they remain gimpy for a while. Bills just need to rest him until he is 100%— no need to rush back for a week 1 game if he isn’t there yet. Quote

If we can’t point a finger at somebody the whole thing is much less satisfying. 1 2 1 Quote

machine gun kelly Posted Sunday at 05:40 PM Posted Sunday at 05:40 PM This stinks as that means if all goes well, is cleared to play a day or two prior to the Ravens. I doubt they’ll play him without practice time. I hope he gets ahead of schedule as the Ravens game is the only really tough game for 8 weeks. Quote
