The only thing I can think of is that this has something to do with racial bias? Go look around the league at safeties. The vast majority look like normal dudes. They don't look like tough guys. The huge tough looking guys are the linebackers and dlinemen because of their size and intimidating build. Guys like that don't play safety because they can't.

I think the OP should have to put on a football uniform, run directly at Cole Bishop, let Bishop run at him full speed and tackle him, then report back on how tough he thinks Bishop is.

Jamal Adams is all this.  Its not 1990.  As cool as all that stuff is/would be as an icing on the cake.... nobody wants a plate of icing with no cake (Adams).

 

I dont care if he wears a pink tootoo, and slow dances runningbacks to the ground... as long as he's getting the tackle & more importantly being sound against the pass!

Sounds to me like you're projecting Zach Wilson on him. I think if he's got the mental part down, which seems to at least be improved, you should be able to stop that projection because he will be playing with a little more speed. I am hoping for Forrest/Bishop by the halfway point and we never look back.

I don’t think that was ha lack of being willing or able to be tough or physical, I think he took time to process instead of just reacting. From what I’ve read about camp he’s in there with the ones, on top of everything and communicating to get everyone properly aligned. When ħe just sees it without thinking I think his physical tools will be more apparent. 

 

My question is, can he cover? I think of him more of a SS kind of guy.  Who will play more of a FS role?

 Let me reassure you, that's not who Cole Bishop has ever been. That player also doesn't really exist in the NFL anymore unless the guy you want is Taylor Rapp.
