Do you think Allen feels relief after the Diggs trade?

I had heard about it back then and this was the first thing I found when I looked for it today.

.

That article is a weird one. Not sure what to make of her comments when she isn’t aware they’re being picked up/recorded for her then to completely backpedal and spin the opposite narrative to the hot mic.

Either she felt disrespected or Stefon is that guy…

Hope it’s neither but it’s one or the other so hopefully the latter as that’d be a shiesty move of her to try and get people in your work field to paint a picture due to your inside knowledge that’s incorrect.

She said it, she meant it, and of course she had to walk it back. It looks pretty simple, and it sounds like the truth to me after watching him getting in Josh’s face and all the other “cryptic tweet” stuff. His pattern here and in Minneapolis gives me no reason to believe she was inaccurate, just remorseful that it got out. She had zero to gain and much to lose (like her job) by that getting out.

I honestly don't think that the Bills do this without Allen give it a thumbs up.

I think James Jones on one of those talk shows said the Bills figured out they can with without him.

Allen spreads the ball out well, maybe better than any QB in the league.  With Diggs getting up there in age, slowing down and Allen not having to worry about getting Diggs his targets....Allen could actually be better.  You can't force the balls to Diggs like it's 2020 or 2021 anymore.  Diggs will want his targets regardless if he's slowing down.

Allen can now just walk up to the line and can just throw it where he thinks its the best place to go rather than satisfying Diggs ego.  It has to be a relief IMO.

WR are diva's and probably will have to deal with something like this again but a more mature way.  I appreciate what Diggs did for us for 4 seasons but these, what Tim Graham said "micro aggressions" do get annoying, especially for Allen.

💯

I sure feel relief. And, no, I'm not being sarcastic. There's enough to worry about with the Bills trying to beat KC and all of the rest of our issues (cap, pass rush, secondary, the draft, the competition, etc.) without the constant questions of does our number 1 WR want to be here and does he get along with our franchise QB?

It's exhausting. I'm glad it's over.

Here's something that did occur to me. This might seem like an odd example but I do remember when Baker was playing with OBJ, when OBJ got injured Baker's stats dramatically improved because he wasn't trying to constantly force him the ball to appease him. Maybe there's been some of that with Josh and Diggs.

Unless you were in the room, you are only speculating

Well, we know from Beane's interview that he informed Josh of trade discussions prior to the trade itself. Not sure if you consider informing 'involved', but yes, I agree we are both speculating about the degree to which Josh Allen was involved in this decision.

a lot of these fans are very relieved...https://finheaven.com/threads/bills-trading-diggs-to-texans.383194/

i cant' wait to see them cry after september again.

I like the comment about how the media will give Josh Allen a “ huge pass when he doesn’t play well “ next year because he doesn’t have receivers or Morse anymore …

One thing we have seen these past 6 years is the willingness of the media to give Josh Allen “passes”…

Josh is likely happy to not have to deal with Diggs constant whimpering,  Josh like was said above liked having a quality WR at his disposal. I think the last straw for Diggs ego was the winning run the team went on and Shakir and Kincaid and Cook where getting targeted more and more frequently and the team was winning without Diggs being the constant go to option,  Diggs like Beasley made himself less valuable with his antics, so the team dumped him for a next years pick. Beane did his usual great job of not airing the teams dirty laundry in public. We will see Diggs play the good soldier for a year or so in Houston, then he will do the same sh-t all over again when age rears its head and his targets get reduced and then he gets waived/cut the following season. He can wear his pink bunny suit down in Texas now…,

The thought has crossed my mind that they don't go after one of the top WR's.  Double up late in the 1st and trade back up early in the 2nd.

I feel like we do need to add to the lines - either a guard or 3T.  Safety is also a possibility for a guy who can potentially start day 1.  If they move up and grab someone in the first then I'd expect a 4th to be another WR and you use a pick to manuever your way around to get a guy you like that slips a little.

NGL I bet Josh is excited for this draft, i know i am pumped.

There’s a lot of mental gymnastics over there.  It’s absolutely wonderful.

I think superstar QB's can take good WR's and make them look much better.  They don't need to super great guy so think Allen will be fine with whoever is out there.

He made Robert Foster look elite for a spell.

I don't come here as much as I used to, so I am not sure if Tim Graham is still taboo here, but I've always liked him.  Just listening to his podcast tonight, and he told a interesting story about Diggs/Allen.  Apparently, after the opening game (the disaster against the Jets) Allen was sitting in front of his locker, towle draped over his head, obviously not happy, reflecting on his disastrous performance.  One by one, teammates were coming up to him, padding him on the shoulder, saying things like "we got your back", "we'll get them next week"... after multiple players tried to cheer Allen up, Diggs stepped up to him and said something.  Graham said he didn't report it at the time, because he wasn't sure what Diggs said...but apparently, it irritated Allen, and he yelled at him "It's one ***** game man!"

Also heard some rumors that during the season, Allen had expressed his unhappiness about always feeling like he had to "walk on eggshells" with Diggs.

It was fun while it lasted, but I think this was the right move.
