The Bills need and will draft a couple WRs. 1 in the 1st 2 rounds and 1 in the middle rounds. I could also see a center and depth RB in the mid-late rounds. They need cheap labor on defense, those are draft picks. And please don’t do your draft board based on Boogie Basham. Better than good (not great) against the run, but lost when dropping into coverage. Middle of the road LB at best, but PFF had him at the top for a good part of the season. 78thealltimegreat Posted February 22 Share Posted February 22 PFFs grading system for Ed Oliver has always kinda confused me as the eye test says he’s been more dominant then their grades indicate….but seeing Josh at number 1 isn’t really a surprise except to the casual fan who just listens to talk show hosts and media personalities constantly badger the guy on his tendency to play hero ball. I will agree with what some others have said we are entering his year 28 season and this is a mark against the Bills brain trust who until recently decided maybe we should take care of the offense for a change and not let him be a one man gang. I understand that it sounds paradoxical, but I actually think the idea that circumstance, system, surrounding personnel, etc. all play critical roles in what a QB becomes is pretty simple. And just like 2021, he was spectacular in the playoffs, only to be let down by team and coaching. In 2023 he suffered from incredibly bad luck as far as turnovers go and a horrible case of the dropsies by his receivers in the last 9 or 10 games of the season. The MVP came down to one simple thing: There were a bunch of good candidates and every one of them had a garbage game and got their name crossed of the list - Josh Allen included - except for Lamar. He saved that for the playoffs, but that doesn't count as the MVP votes are cast right after the regular season ends. And guess what?
