I have a workmate whose brother is in the FBI. He's saying it was a Tesla, possibly in self-driving mode, that was on the US side, traveling at close to 100 mph, hit a curb, went airborne, and crashed into a secondary inspection site.

Just want to clarify early comment, so I'm not spinning anything up:

 

Not all the imagery I've seen would indicate a VBIED attack, at least that I'm familiar with (ex, lack of cratering, wider blast damage, other).

 

So...12-24 hr definitely applies here.

No one knows for sure if there were explosives in the vehicle… the car went airborne and it an object and exploded… Coulda been just gas tank exploded but who knows… just seen seen on a live news report

If it was a Tesla (which it appeared to me from the wheel in the wreckage), it didn't "just blow up".  Teslas burn, they don't detonate.  A high speed wreck might catastrophicly rupture the batteries to basically explode.  Also a Tesla would be a weird terrorist car to blow up.
