Stop listening to delusional Pats fans! IMO O’Brien will hopefully correct what went terribly wrong last year and hopefully a small jump from his rookie year.. (which would be a huge leap.. from 2022 lol)

I think he is probably closer to 20 than 29 like this ranking has… putting QBS up that high who haven’t played a down seems silly IMO.

I'm not as down on Mac Jones as some (here & elsewhere).  I think he's a capable QB.  Not many "elite" traits, but I think he can be a solid starter.

Which is all Belichick needs. The Pats could surprise people this year. I don't think they will, given how tough their schedule is, but if they had a schedule like last year's I'd have them as an 11 win team this season.  As it is, the AFCE & AFC in general are pretty brutal without a top QB.

In my opinion, Josh is still #2 behind Mahomes. With a healthy elbow and better weapons, I think that will become clear to most as the season wears on. Otherwise, can't really argue much with their top 8.

A QB to watch is the Steelers' Kenny Pickett. I liked what I saw from him last year and wouldn't be surprised to see him make a decent move up that list this season.

Ya I like Pickett alot.

The AFC is sooo loaded

My "fear" is that with such a tough schedule, even if josh played batter yet the team loses, he will not get the credit for what he does at Qb.

Hurts is a more athletic Tua but on a better team

Hurts is a more athletic Tua, with a stronger arm, more durable and available to play.   That kid is legit.  I think he’s better than Tua.

It’s a Power Ranking, not a rating of who’s actually the best and with that in mind, the list is pretty damn good. I find it hard to fault until the back end of it, but their justifications are pretty solid.

4th place is accurate.

There may be some rankings I disagree with, but their top 5 lines up exactly with my own.

I think Allen's ceiling is as good as anyone, Mahomes included, he just has a lower floor (that we also see more often).

Hurts was definitely the surprise of the year for me, but he earned a top 3 spot for sure.

I can certainly quibble with some of the rankings, but that isn’t what was so surprising. What really shocks me is not how bad that list gets, but how quickly it gets so bad.

Analytics sites often stress the importance of having a top 8 QB in the league - or even a QB capable of being in the top 8 some years. That list very vividly illustrates why that is. I’m not sure there are more than 8 QBs in this league I’d want. It also shows you why Baltimore paid what they did for Lamar and why even the Geno Smiths and Daniel Joneses of the league get paid so well. Yikes.

Note: Yes, I’m ecstatic that we are lucky enough to have one of those top QBs.

I've often said you either have a top 10 QB or you're trying to figure out how to get one.   If you have a QB in the second 10, you're trying to figure out how to get him into the top 10, or at least how to use him to win games while you're finding his replacement.   Bottom ten is "well, SOMEONE has to play QB, and he's the guy we have."

QB is such a difficult position, the league is never deep at it.

Hurts and Burrow have more quality offensive weapons. They have better O lines, yes O lineman are weapons as well.

And dare I say the Bengals and Eagles have better coaching as well.

Mahomes and Allen are the top all around QBs regarding skillset.

Passing/Accuracy/Rushing/

Evasiveness/Awareness/Toughness/Durability/Strength/Leadership/

Intelligence.

They may not be the best in all traits but unlike the other QBS they uber competent in all of them.

Of course it's JMHO.

JA17 is the best QB in the league and it's not even close. He does everything he possibly can with much less than the top 3 QBs on that list.

Hopefully the improvements on offense pay off this year and McD and Dorsey finally develop a respectable ground game.

Yeah, Allen is number 2. They tend to conveniently leave out the elbow issue of last year on his damn throwing arm.

But  is Hurts really better than Allen or is it recency bias?

In terms of advancing through the playoffs, Hurts is more successful. In terms of QB talent Allen blows Hurts away.

Hurts is not even close to being better than Allen. He is basically a 70% Allen on his best day.

He was asked to do far less than Allen was just as every other QB was.

Yeah this is what I think as well. Allen is as good as Allen is with what he has around him. Allen with what burrow or hurts has around them would be ridiculous.

It'll be nice to have the chip put back on Allen's shoulder this season.  He went from better than or neck and neck with Mahomes to being leap frogged by less dominant players in the NFLs QB rankings all while having a similar, but not as serious,  elbow injury that wouldn't allow Purdy to even throw a ball during a game.

Hopefully the inferno inside our guy is full blast to prove the talking heads wrong again once the season starts.

I'm expecting scorched earth Allen to return.

Until Josh beats Burrow, he should remain 3. But you have to factor in Burrow's 2 receivers.  For now I'd put Hurts at 4.  Herbert has to prove he can win a playoff game and after 2 playoff games, Lawrence's ratingis only 72.  Rodgers is too high and Tua is too low.  Pickett is also too low.
