ok.. so this is a copy paste league for a reason... not just in personnel but in playbooks as well. There are so many different plays already written that one does not really need to design plays. What he needs to learn is set up plays that in future downs tricks defenses into thinking you are going one way, and then we go the different direction. Having Kincaid will help with that.

The Best question that can not be answered.. Can he create a dynamic playbook with smooth progression of plays throughout the game. I think he does not do it alone, I think he quietly gets outside help like many other OC's do..  I think what we dream of is a offensive playbook like San Fran... That is not happening... but there is plenty of good you can do a step down from that.

I agree with what you say, especially the last part. Being able to see some creativity in his play design would be nice, not everything has to be copy and paste. Some degree of creativity in the number of plays out of one formation would be nice as well.

This thread about to surpass the Torrence thread which shows people would rather cry and complain about a questionable pick according to draft simulators than appreciate a great value pick according to those same draft simulators

ne beat us with nothing but running attack. hall seems to be a stud that we didnt face due to injury and miami rb had his best game against us last year.

speed is great but i hope the guy can stack and shed as well or josh and the new new tight end we just got arent going to see the field much. opponents are going to grind out the clock and see if josh can play a mistake free game.

I was onboard with the Dorsey promotion, but he is the biggest wildcard in all of this and the one the scares me the most. Sean has had very good defenses in his career and he is usually aggressive in his play calling. I'm a bit worried about the overall size of the LBs, but I get changing it up and I understand on a high level what the thought process seems to be. Easier to have faith on the D with Sean having success before. Dorsey - no f-ing clue and it scares the hell out of me. Can he design plays?

It's hard for me to get too down on Dorsey after they just scored 28 ppg with their worst personnel since 2019 and a banged up Josh Allen.   Brian Douche-ball was fired as an OC 4 times and half way thru 2018 he was leading the worst offense the NFL had seen since the merger.   He got better and even had a great season in 2020.......so if a guy who lost that many times can then Dorsey certainly can.   At the same time,  hopefully he doesn't get over-confident in his play calling if he does........ like his predecessor did in 2021 with all those low scoring games that sank their home field dreams.   Expect the Giants to experience that market correction offensively as BD's wicky-wacky style costs the Giants some shoulda-won games this season.

Keep in mind.. We have a very unique skill set now with Kincaid. We will be able to get silly with different formations and plays that we could not do in the past 4 years. This is an exciting time for me. They are going to be so cued in on what our TE's are doing and where they are? Cook will be able to Cook..  I also said this offseason that I think we run a bit more this season... take those planned running plays away from JA and give them to our RB and then some.  Prepare for slightly more balance.

Diva approach?

A top flight NFL WR who has 10 seasons in.

Yup horrible guy.

Didn’t say he was a horrible guy. He’s a great WR. I’ll be more clear:

1. What do cards want ? We don’t know ?

2. He stopped running on a pass int and gave up on his team .. so yes he’s a diva

3. His contract is around $14-16 m and he’s not happy w it so yes he’s a diva

4. He and Diggs will both want 10 targets

5. We just drafted a big TE/ WR in round 1

We all saw it - it just looked really hard later in the season and personnel definitely played a part in it. I'm looking at a higher level - how much leash is there on this team, with this qb and where we are trying to go?

You do know we play 2LBs on most downs?  Is there really an inside or outside anymore?

He backs up Milano and then Bernard moves “inside” to challenge Dodson.

This guy is a hustler, a team captain, and a fantastic tackler.

Who were all these other players?

I want to like the pick but the facts are there were better players available that can be immediate game changers not back up LB and special team contributor.

- Clark Phillips III has some of the best instincts at corner in the draft and would’ve played significant snaps immediately.

- Michael Wilson has #1 WR upside and is already a very good route runner and if it weren’t for injury concerns would’ve went way higher (he was selected 2 picks after Williams)

- Dawan Jones immediately challenges Spencer Brown for the RT spot

- Siaka Ika immediately is a rotational DT on run downs who could develop to take over full time for Jones

Even Zavala, Freeland and Duncan are all O lineman who could immediately challenge for starting spots

Again I want to like the pick but it feels more like a McDermott pick telling Beane hey can I at least get a special teams guy here since we went offense last two rounds. Stay true to your board Beane you did great first two picks

But I’ll try not be negative and hope he surprises me and actually does play meaningful defensive snaps and is not just a Milano backup and special teams guy

Agreed. Kincaid gives a lot of flexibility, a whole lot.

Thus far we haven't seen Dorsey do it yet - that was/is my only point.

I like to think cup half full around here... (I really do not think this is a hard ask) If our offense looks like it is running smooth and not choppy deep ball all game, and McD calls the defense as good as we all know he can call it? We may be in for good times this season..  If one side or the other completely fails this season and we get a repeat of last season?

Some really good coaches out there if available will be begging to coach this team... Again Cup Half Full! I think we will do great.

I'm not saying I love the pick but it is what it is. I refuse to call a guy a terrible pick who I know nothing about but that's just me.

I’m a realist. I just know he’s going to be useless. I guess I don’t get suckered into liking everything the team does. I really liked the first 2 picks then they really ruined a good couple picks with this.  So many other players that could have been taken that might actually amount to something more than a backup to the backup at LB and a punt and kick cover guy.

imagine the excitement if we had taken Dawand Jones or really any OT instead.

My final thought - McDermott was definitely behind this pick in a way, especially now that he's calling plays

His tape looks great. I'm sure McD has plans for him on D , even if it is in a package and not full time

He is the opposite if Edmunds , instincts and playing speed wise and I trust McD, he has has a perennial top 5 D

This feels a little bit like a forced pick. Maybe they were hoping to grab on of those other linebackers and then there was that mini run and they locked into taking a linebacker. There is zero chance he was BPA, whereas the other two picks felt like BPA. I don’t hate the pick…I hate the idea that they have already decided he’s really not going to be in the mix to play next to Milano. What’s the point?

I’m actually hoping the come away with Noah Sewell later who can actually slot in at Mike.
