It also reminds me somewhat of the movie Hoosiers when Myra Fleener says, "I've seen them, the real sad ones. They sit around the rest of their lives talking about the glory days when they were seventeen years old." It's real nice the Bills were in the playoffs the last 4 seasons...but those days are past. It's time to look forward, yeah get excited, but demand excellence in next season and beyond. As much as I remember the 90s Bills, that was 30 years ago. It just means you are 3rd/4th place which means you are the 2nd/3rd loser. If you don’t win the Lombardi, you are a loser. A QB going into his prime on a HOF path, one of the acknowledged best HC/GM combos, and a great owner willing to do whatever it takes. Have we accomplished the goal. No but for God's sake some of these posts are absolutely ridiculous. I'm enjoying this, hasn't been so much fun since the Kelly days. I think people may be worried that this current era's (The Allen and Diggs, or rather the team of the last 3 years) window may be closing. With Allen at the helm, there will always be a Super Bowl window, I think people really loved this team of the last 3 years, they were just so damn talented only to have the rug pulled out from underneath them in the playoffs by the coaching staff, and want to see everyone get a ring. The same dudes are gonna be on here in every thread about they would have won it sooner had Beane and Mcdermott listened to them, or they got lucky, etc etc. They can’t be content with just 1.. It's a way overused metaphor, but I've finally found myself understanding and appreciating that it's about the journey more than the destination. The journey, the whole journey, has been long and not without pain, but it's had some incredible highs. The current stretch of the journey has been full of joy. It's really great. None of that means that I don't care about reaching the destination. What it means is that I'm not tormented day to day, thinking about all the ways we haven't reached the destination yet. It doesn't matter. I don't waste any energy criticizing Beane for what he might have done three years ago or two years ago. I don't care about Wyatt Teller. It's all just history.
