Coach Tuesday
Not a surprise at all actually. Doesn't fit Kromer's preferred scheme. Joe B did a good write up on this.

Paul Costa
He may be back. But is replaceable with an early round draft pick. Zion Williams would be nice

RunTheBall
Only reason I'm mildly surprised is because of the dead cap hit. It will be interesting to see what Beane has in mind for the O-line
Magox
It’s another hole that will have to be filled. Departures/possible Departures QB - Trubisky RB - Breida, Taiwan Jones WR - Sanders, Beasley OL - Mongo, Darryl Williams,Boettger, Bates, Ford TE - Gilliam, Sweeney DL- Addison, Hughes, Obada, Butler, Star, Phillips LB - Klein, Matakavich DB - Levi Wallace That’s 21 possible departures with a high likelihood of somewhere between 15-18 of them not being on the squad next year. Thats potentially more turnover than we have had in years.

"If the Bills move on from Williams, it could also signal that they would like to use more zone blocking principles. New offensive line coach Aaron Kromer, who most recently worked under Sean McVay with the Rams — an offense known for those principles. A zone blocking scheme favors athleticism ahead of power, needing the linemen to adapt and get to the second-level quickly or move off their spot to protect their area. Unfortunately, these are not Williams’ strengths. He is more of a power blocker with heavier feet than the rest of the offensive line. It’s also not McDermott’s first time hiring someone with a zone-blocking background. His first offensive coordinator hire, Rick Dennison, spent almost his entire career with Mike Shanahan. As a defensive coach, McDermott likely believes those offenses are extremely difficult to defend." Depends on how well they thought Doyle came on, I guess I would also guess they plan to try to bring back both Bates and Boettger. TBH, I think Williams leaves them room to sign McKenzie and do just that (bring back Bates and Boettger) But they could have an upgrade in mind. Motor26
I hope they’ve got a good signing lined up for one of the guard spots.

davefan66
So, that frees up enough money to sign a draft class. More moves to come for sure. Need to free up big money if we have any thoughts of signing Harrison Philips, or any one of our numerous free agents. Or whoever takes their place on the roster. Let alone going after big name FA’s. Lots of big moves coming.

That's still Beasley, Ford, Lotulelei, and Matekavich. Color key them or something?
Rigotz
Not a shocker at all. Extremely high paid Right Guard who isn't an extremely talented Right Guard. We paid him like a tackle because that's what he was. He gave us average play at both Tackle and Guard. Plenty of people saw this coming. PrimeTime101
because of Josh's arm, we could have one of the most dangerous screen games in the league... For that... we need to get more athletic and stop overpaying lineman unless he "is that darn good" Edited March 14, 2022 by PrimeTime101
