I think the DC deserves a lot of the credit.

Don't understand when Dennis Allen hasn't had HC looks. Think Chicago spoke to him but they spoke to about 20 people in round 1. I know it was a disaster with the Raiders but he was young and out of his depth in a dysfunctional organisation. He can coach.

I don't know what his contract provides, but generally if he has three years left on his contract he cannot just go elsewhere-- he is obligated to the Saints.  It is the flip side of being terminated-- you still get paid over the life of the contract, see, e.g, Rex Ryan.

He cannot be forced to work for the Saints, but I believe that the Saints could preclude him from working elsewhere, absent the Saints releasing him in return for other considerations, like cash or draft picks.  Again he may have a termination clause in his contract or something, but I do not think you can assume he is free to take another job during the life of the contract.

Compensation would be required unless NO for some reason terminates his contract. Kinda like when Marshawn came back to the raiders but the Seahawks technically still possessed his contractual rights

i think the starting point in the analysis is Sean Payton's actual contract.

coaches dont have a CBA with standard provisions.  They dont have a salary cap.  Payton could easily have leveraged some out-clauses over the years.

It’s because of his tenure with the Raiders

I think if he leaves GB then Rodgers ends up in IND, PIT, or DEN, in that order of likelihood.

Indy has to deal with Wentz money for another year so I’m not sure why people think Rodgers is going there. They have to eat that money some how 15 million if they cut and someone would have to pay him over 28 million to take him on. I guess they could do it if they want to eat the salary.

That or maybe GB would take Wentz in return to bridge/backup Love? Not sure how much cap hit can be transferred to GB.
