This is probably impossible, but it's really what they need. A premium pass rusher to anchor a legitimate 6 to 7 man rotation, and an end to the 11 man rotation of JAGs. Then draft a CB and let's go.

Myjai Sanders Edge Rusher, Cincinnati or Trent McDuffie CB Washington.   Both are fast and have good upside.

They closed the gap due to Allen being even better than last season. It’s amazing what he does for this franchise. McBeane would be long gone if not for him. 

But let’s not mention losing our all pro cornerback.  If he’s healthy this game, we win imo.

Many disagree (and I'm not sure why) but I think that Allen is so flat out great that he makes most of the offensive players around him look much better than they would with a human quarterback. The man is a generational talent who needs more weapons and better protection. At this point I think that he has at least as much a talent as John Elway and even more raw ability that Trevor Lawrence. Seriously.  Why consider anything else in the early rounds after the resources that we have recently devoted to the defense?

If I was Josh Allen and they drafted a first round corner I would be furious and feel alienated.

Two of the fastest........Jameson Williams and John Metchie..........tore ACL's in the Alabama postseason.

 

They are expected to make full recoveries.........but after the injuries they both might be available at #25 when the Bills pick.

 

The question mark is how much they could contribute next season coming off those injuries...........it's a long season so if you can get one back at full speed in November you still could have 8-9 games left to utilize them.    Complicated decision.

 

Then there are a number of others who are likely late first-early 2nd rounders who aren't injured but probably not quite explosive.

 

In general it's a very good WR class again but the players with special speed as well as other early round skills will likely be gone at some point in round 2.

But the NFL is changing... You see Allen and mahomes run from big lineman every game and not be touched... You need tackles and ends who can run qbs down

DL - I don't see how you invest more draft capital in the DL.  I assume both Hughes and Addison are gone.  You've got to let the three kids play next year and hope they develop.  Maybe get a veteran FA pass rush specialist.  It's not going to happen but how about a homecoming for Kalil Mack on a short term deal?  

 

LB - Let Edmunds play out his contract.  Find a good run stuffing LB in the middle rounds and give the D some versatility.  When playing run heavy teams, play a traditional 4-3 with Edmunds outside and let's see if he can create some havoc playing for a new contract.  

 

CB - I wouldn't have said it eight weeks ago and maybe it's some recency bias but I'm all in favor of drafting a CB #1.  Let Wallace walk, sign a mid level veteran, and hope White comes back mid season in decent form. 

About RB…I disagree. I think RB is still a need, but maybe not as big a one as a few weeks ago. Singletary has stepped up, but he will never be quick enough to run away from a defense. We can absolutely upgrade at RB.

Disagree with the original premise. The Bills got to Mahomes a lot yesterday, but he was unreal at escaping. The Chiefs have good pass rushers too but only took Allen down twice on over 40 dropbacks (including scrambles).

Chiefs lost Mathieu.   Their secondary got beat up and was really depleted late.    So I wouldn't say that I'd trade those benefits for Tre White being back.........Allen really exploited those.  

 

The Chiefs also missed 2 easy kicks in the first half.

 

Bills were fortunate to get back in it late.........we shouldn't pretend like they had the game in the bag for 59:47..........there was a good deal of luck in the rope-a-dope approach on defense nearly getting them out of Arrowhead with a W.

 

I would have gladly stole a SB from them this year and relished it but they were still the slightly better team..........their playmakers had massive impact for Mahomes both on the stat sheet and how they affected the Bills D plan just by their presence on the field.

He's talented but he's not a pass rusher  

 

I've seen alot of him , he's talented but he's more of a 2 down DT .. 

 

He's not going to have many if any pass rush moves in the NFL ... He won't be able to dominate with strictly size in the NFL  

 

He's good and will probably go top 25 but he isn't a game changer .. he's a run stuffer 

 

And most teams dont wanna take a run stuffer round 1.. they want impact

Yes, I've been thinking this. ACL injuries generally don't scare me anymore at all. Yes, recovery times are different for everyone, but unless it's a catastrophic injury a lot of players seem to be good to go in around 9 months.

I believe I saw the Jameson Williams injury. He also looked like the scrawniest legged WR on the team. Speed kills but I want them to be able to hold up as well. Just a concern.

Just looked it up. Apparently, Williams had a clean tear (no additional damage to other ligaments) and is expected to fully recover to a sub 4.3 speed. Honestly, though, I think the Pats will take him.
