First Round Bust Posted January 4, 2022 Share Posted January 4, 2022 (edited) per Sal C a 5% drop in completions, less yards per game with 5 more picks thrown with several deflections at the line becoming ints. only sacked 26 times is a credit to him, Burrow has been sacked double that ! running more, but not in red zone, as overall rush yards are way up with less TDs...its not been as good as last year or has it ? Forward Progress Posted January 4, 2022 Share Posted January 4, 2022 We've had many more bad-weather games this year compared to last year which has a big impact on the stats. Overall, I think Josh is a more complete quarterback this year, even if the stats don't show it the way we'd like for an MVP race. He has added the ability to hit crossing routes and underneath passes much better than a year ago. Did we even have a bad weather game last season? I can’t remember one. Also defenses really keyed in on him this year with that cover-2/high safety stuff (which also gave Mahomes problems). The one stat that’s still amazing about these numbers too is the size of his receivers he’s got the smallest starting receiving corps in the league with only one of his top 5 over 6ft tall being Gabe Davis so it limits the type of throws he can attempt when a guy like Cole who is good but is also 5’9 in short the guy is just amazing Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It has not. Still an excellent year this year but definitely not as good, as we knew even before seeing these stats. Last year's offensive DVOA was 23.8%, and 34.5 when weighted. This year's is 11.5%. Couldn't find the weighted. And an awful lot of that is on Allen. Process Posted January 4, 2022 Share Posted January 4, 2022 Allen was a ridiculous last season. That was never sustainable with the offense we have around him. But he's still balling out. This off-season solidify the o line, get a RB other teams actually have to worry about, and bring in another playmaker at WR. But those numbers are within the bounds of normal divergence for an elite QB year on year.
