Coffeesforclosers
Seems like the Russian withdrawal in Kherson is underway. Ukraine is snapping up a lot of territory very quickly, without much reported fighting. Edit: Now there's lots of chatter from sources on both sides that, somehow, Russian forces weren't ready to pull out. Russian troops are jamming up the crossing points along the Dnipro River and that panic is taking hold. Ukrainian forces are smashing crossing points with artillery, rockets and drones as they come into range to help things along. We'll know what's what in the next couple of days. Putin wants to use his nukes so bad....he needs to tell his peeps that countries of the west and nato are going to attack...giving him cause to unleash nukes. It appears clear to me. His cannot win a ground war, or air war and certainly not a naval war... Pulling his troops out of key areas, firing another general to blame and now this. Time is getting near for major decisions. sherpa
This missile in Poland thing should be very easy to figure out. The only way for the Russians to gain momentum is through air power, and the Ukrainian air defense capability is currently very poor, so perhaps aid from the US and others will be in that area. The Russians figured out within a couple weeks how to successfully jam drones, so that isn't a real threat to them either, unless changes are made. Evidently, the life expectancy of a Ukrainian drone is about a week, so they are treated as munitions, not assets that last multiple missions. SCBills
So… it was likely a missile fired by Ukraine (yes, in response to Russian bombing) that landed in Poland. Zelensky and other Ukrainian politicians immediately called for/alluded to Article 5. Yet, every media outlet is proceeding to discuss this war as if it was a Russian launch anyway. More billions to Ukraine. Obsessive war talk again. Sketch war continues to be sketch.

Russia is losing, they know they're losing, and they know that they can't escalate a nuclear war without MAD.

If we dropped an M-1 Abrams in Kyiv, they wouldn't have the training to effectively use it. So there are two things being done to fix this: The US and other NATO countries, (especially the former Soviet countries) are sending their old Soviet gear to Ukraine right away. No training is needed, so the Ukrainians can deploy them in the field immediately. Ukrainians soldier are going out of country (primarily to the UK) for training on NATO equipment. This way, when they have enough soldiers who are properly trained, we have the option of giving them more modern NATO kit. The funny thing is, Russia is so depleted that they are currently deploying 40's era Soviet weapons. So even the old stuff Ukraine has is better.
