Cutting Brown, unfortunately, made perfect sense when it came to saving money. I 100% knew his plan wasn't going to work and then I left. 3 years later, all offices in that division closed. I saw the writing on the wall. I'm in manufacturing right now and mills or plants that are run by bad GM/Ops Managers have high turnover because no one wants to work for them. Their bonuses are effected by the success of the plant. If the plant isn't successful, that's money out of your pocket. That’s unfair extra pressure on Josh with no upside, imho. And good point. Brown was set to make, what, $9-10M this year? So how much of a pay cut is he really going to take? Is he willing to go down to $1M just to stay on this team? I'm sure he can get more than that somewhere else. It's what's best for both sides whether he realizes it right now or not. Just saying it will still be more than what the Bills want to pay him when we need all the cap room we can get. Instead of trying to throw shade on Josh, he should of been asking himself more about his effort after returning from injury. To me, it was piss poor. If he truly wanted to be a part of team maybe he could of taken a pay cut or reworked an incentive laden contract. But unfortunately this is the price tag for COVID this year. I don't remember anything about him refusing to take a pay cut, but I have a hard time believing that he and his agent didn't have at least some discussion with Beane about taking one to stay with the team.
