UConn James
Reportedly, he blew a .02, which is less than the .08 threshold in NJ. But IDK what the specific law is where he could be charged; perhaps it’s in combination with a driving violation where anything but 0.0 gets you charged with DWI. Just very stupid / 💩ty / hypocritical of him to not inform Jeep about this when it happened 3 months ago so they could decide whether to run the ad / keep him as a spokesperson. The fact that this has gone undetected by the media is nothing short of miraculous .... to the point of being a little fishy. Lots of people talked about the commercial the day after the game - which goes for a handful of the commercials shown. But suddenly, everyone's talking about Jeep again. And Bruce. They're not even airing the commercial, but both Jeep and Bruce are getting tons more publicity from this "news." All publicity is good publicity.
UConn James
I dunno about fishy. It sounds like he wasn’t actually arrested & charged for it until now. So it wouldn’t have appeared in any available paperwork / release.
The Poojer
.08 is simply the legal threshold, technically anything over .00 is considered DUI, this sounds pretty stupid though, allegedly. Took a shot with some fans who flagged him down for a picture, a park police saw him and went over and arrested him. 22 minutes ago, Gugny said: The fact that this has gone undetected by the media is nothing short of miraculous .... to the point of being a little fishy. Well, he is a U.S. Medal of Freedom winner. Maybe it includes a free pass from the media if caught drunk while driving in the U.S.A. And, maybe, he had another more pressing scheduled engagement, post to his arrest? Edited February 11, 2021 by I am the egg man
Wacka
Just saw on my phone that he flunked the physical drunk tests at the park, said he had 2 shots of Patron tequila in 20 minutes and refused a breathylizer test. The bottle was empty.Wouldn't have registered a .02 Probably a .20 Looks like his Glory Days have passed him by Edited February 11, 2021 by Wacka

SinceThe70s
The story today is that he did a shot of tequila in public when he ran into some fans. Was in full view of National Park Service cops when he did the shot and they pulled over when he rode his motorcycle away. https://nypost.com/2021/02/11/bruce-springsteen-busted-after-one-shot-of-tequila/

Bills4everNY
Here's what happened. Bruce was walking into a roadside bar and he saw a friend who was a great baseball player back in high school who was walking out. They went back inside and had a few drinks but all he kept talking about was glory days.

The Poojer
I had my annual physical on tuesday, my doctor asked how many drinks i had per day, he threw out 2-3, i said, yeah maybe if you average it out over a week....i think that was probably an understated number on my part....no sense lying about weiner size in that situation 3 minutes ago, Doc said: Same reason: because (most) people don't want to admit the embarrassing truth. ExiledInIllinois
If you know you're gonna fail... ALWAYS refuse the breathalyzer. Why give them evidence to use against you. Every minute is your friend...
Wacka
Because they will take you to the station and give you one there or if you say no there, a blood test. Refusing a breathalyzed is an automatic suspension.

IslandBillsFan
This news story really bothers me for several reasons: The arrest happened back in November. Shame on TMZ for sitting on it and waiting to release after the Superbowl Ad. And shame on Jeep too, did they not dig through Bruce's career and arrest record before having him be the front man for their ad? Continuing with the shame train, if .02 can get you arrested, why don't we just make it 0.0. Shame on the cops, lawyers, and lawmakers. While I don't condone drunk driving having a silly limit where essentially drinking two drinks puts you over, then whats the point? Why not install those breathalyzers in every car ignition to make sure no one driving is dunk? Lastly, shame on me for reading these articles and caring. This isn't even a news story. Any person who has drunk alcohol has driven over the limit at some point in their lives. You park outside any bar and you could give 9/10 people DUIs.

WhoTom
https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/bruce-springsteen-hearing-dwi-charges-dismissed-1132609/ Quote As part of a pre-hearing agreement between U.S. attorneys and Springsteen’s legal team, Springsteen agreed to plead guilty to consuming alcohol in a closed area — during the hearing, Springsteen admitted to having “two small shots of tequila” — at the Gateway National Recreation Area. However, as the judge overseeing the case noted, up until three summers ago, alcohol consumption was allowable at the Sandy Hook, New Jersey, park. Quote After pleading guilty to the consuming alcohol in a closed area charge, Springsteen, who has no prior criminal history, was handed down a $500 fine. When asked how long he needed to pay the fine, Springsteen told the judge, “I think I can pay that immediately, your Honor.”
