  1. Pretty impressive leap and tackle. Sure some team could sign him. P.S. I'm joking around. Feel bad for the judge but also the guy if he is really having a mental episode.
  2. I am not even sure they will win their division let alone be the #1 AFC seed. Right now they are two games back of Baltimore and have to play them again.
  3. I did a little quick reading and it looks like you are correct. Shocking that he has more hits than Sheeran. Maybe I hang out in the wrong circles or am an old man and out of touch. Not sure what Combs' concerts look like... we will need someone to let us know how it goes buying tickets.
  4. Couple thoughts on Luke Combs.... so he is a real star and is on a big tour. Upcoming shows in the U.S. are at major ball parks and football stadiums. Many of the tickets haven't gone on sale yet so it is hard to get an idea how much they will go for. Even though he is a star, I think the football stadiums will be relatively easy and inexpensive (relative term as all concerts are expensive now) to get tickets to. No way he is close in popularity to other major acts on the stadium tour like Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Ed Sheeran, Bruce Springsteen, Harry Styles etc.... As someone mentioned Luke Combs attended AppState (like me) and played the football stadium there a year or so back. I had two friends who couldn't give away an extra ticket they had. This is mostly due to the fact no one lives in Boone so attending the concert it is quite a mission. Side fun fact, Eric Church also attended Appstate and was there when I was. Never saw him play music but I am sure I probably had a beer with him somewhere along the way. What's funny about Eric Church is around AppState he has built a crappy reputation as he openly roots for UNC football despite attending AppState. In general, I prefer Church's music to Combs'.
  5. Chiming in here a little late. But yes I golf. In fact just got back from Ireland and England. Really cool trip...: I won tickets to The British Open (I refuse to call it The Open.) So rather than just go to watch we flew to Ireland for 4 days and played three rounds there. Then jumped over to England and watched the pros for three days and golfed one day in England ourselves. Great trip. Not cheap though. In general, I am a member of a club and play roughly 1.5 times a week. I play almost every Saturday and maybe 1 night 9 holes after work. About a 12 handicap. Usually shoot around 85. In Ireland we got beat up by the courses and weather. Shot mid 90s.
  6. Will be there. Can't remember how many home openers I've been to in a row now. Maybe like 12.
  7. FYI- My Plan is to wait for the schedule release (probably around 5/11) and then make an assessment. My rationale is at a minimum we should have and my tendencies are: 4 Primetime Games 2 In Person Games 2 Games which are just regular broadcast The real kicker is usually I am out of town for about 4 weekends of the football season. Usually, when traveling I like to find a Bills bar or just a sports bar to watch the game. It is rare I am in a situation where I need to stream on my phone. Put that all together and I think I will have access to at least 12 of the 17 games. That leaves me about 5 weekends to go to the local bar to watch the games. I think I can manage that and it will be cheaper than purchasing the YouTube season ticket. Anyone thinking along the same lines?
  8. I'm sure some of you caught the end of the CLE @ CAR game. What I am trying to understand is why the no call on intentional grounding on the second to last play. If you watch the replay, Brissett definitely takes a weird step back before spiking it. Some are claiming that he was checking if he had a receiver open. There are several articles about it, the one here mentions it in the second half. https://www.panthers.com/news/panthers-objected-to-two-late-calls-in-browns-comeback-win I am not questioning whether or not he looked at the receiver and whether or not that should be a call. The thing that was perplexing to me was the ref's explanation. If I heard him right, and I may have not because I was watching Red Zone, the ref said, "The quarterback faked spiked and then spiked the ball. This is not a penalty." 1) Is that what he said? 2) If that is what he said, are you really allowed to fake spike before really spiking? I know you can fake spike and run a play. But if you are allowed to fake spike and then spike, why not just pump fake spike a bunch of times while looking around? Any help?
  9. I wear a mechanical watch everyday for several reasons: 1) Its easier to look at your wrist than grab your phone. 2) I still like the style and the way a good watch looks. All my watches are pretty inexpensive (Less than $150) but still look good. 3) I don't want anymore connected devices. Having a phone is enough. Also, I don't want anymore devices to charge.
  10. I think this will happen too. On ESPN Radio yesterday they were quoting some NFL official who was explaining that there will be 3 games on Xmas this year. The NFL guy happened to be doing so on WGR. Seems like an interesting radio station to go on to talk the xmas games. Related to other comments.... I like Sunday at 1pm. Mix in a couple primetime/holiday games. If we end up with upwards of 5 or 6 primetime games it will be weird. I always go to the home opener. Really hoping that is a 1pm. However, I wouldn't be surprised if we were Sunday or Monday night.
  11. I haven't done a ton of research, but Phil's argument is that the PGA retains too much of the money. The PGA tour has little competition and due to this players have little leverage to negotiate more money. Whether this is true or not, is inconclusive. Phil's approach to publically bashing the tour is less than ideal. Overall, this topic of creating a "super league" comes up every few months over the last few years. I don't see it going anywhere.
  12. Curious what happened after the updated COD. I guess he just banged his head and decided to sleep it off. These head injuries are crazy.
  13. Most conventional programs say around 4 months with a solid foundation is good to prepare for a marathon. However, I never really stick to a plan. Sometimes, I have ran for a year leading up to a race, others times I've done them with only a few days notice. Marathoning is difficult depending on where you are starting from. However, I firmly believe anyone who wants to commit could do one. There are plenty of plans out there where you can walk/jog and still complete the race before cutoff times.
  14. My issue with Christmas in recent years is that giving gifts is there is no more surprises or thought put into it. I buy gifts for about 10 people (parents, brother, sister, nieces, nephews etc..) all who share their "lists." In the last couple years, everyone just comes up with a list and links to Amazon or Target. Its basically saying buy me this. I would be nice to have some thought put into the gifts. Last year, I didn't buy anyone anything and instead just booked a trip. I think an experience always outweigh the material item. However, like many people, I am pressed for time and don't want to put in the thought. I did all my shopping in an evening just buying what people asked for and shipping it to them. I am part of the problem....
  15. Sounds like a lot of non-runners in this group. I've run a ton of distance races. Probably about 10 full marathons and one 52 mile charity event. I also tried to complete the Badwater 50 mile race in BaldHead Island about a month ago. Missed the 31 mile cutoff time. I will try it again in March. Out of all the long distance races, my most impressive achievement was completing the Providence half marathon after being at a wedding the night before. Was up drinking and celebrating til about 4am. Got up at 6am and went down to the start line. They were setting up the Michelob Ultra beer tent for after the race. I asked for a beer and the vendor said, "These are for runners only!" I think he thought I was some homeless guy. I completed it on little sleep and half intoxicated.
  16. I watched a little of the Manning brothers the other week. Pretty good. However, the zoom lag bothers me. It gets especially worse when they have a guest on and no one is sure when to talk. I know there is an expensive involved but could they not just get them in the same room together?
  17. I have to agree that it is psuedo science. Not really hurting anything, just borderline a waste of time. Maybe I am wrong and cupping will turn out to be legit. However, all studies by credible sources say it is not. Going a step further, I've never seen it done by anyone in the medical field. I file it in the ranks of ear candles, acupuncture, chakras, black eye tape, rekee, chiropracty, etc... Just my two cents.
  18. I am less concerned about a potential pain/injury and more concerned he has bought into "cupping therapy."
  19. I may be an old curmudgeon, but I think the electronic tickets make the issue worse. Having the tickets pulled up on your phone presents a problem as some people aren't ready for the scan.
  20. I'm a little lost on this topic too. My understanding is he is able to play presently because the NFL hasn't suspended him or put him on any exempt list. So basically the Texans are saying based on his actions (badmouthing team and harassment allegations) he is not playing. At this point, why would he want to play? He is basically getting paid to do very little now. I know it's not a good look, but if I'm the Texans and he wants to play I would let him. If my limited understanding is correct, I am scared that this sets a pattern where players get to dictate what teams they will play for. If you can say you want to be traded and don't get your wish you can just ride out your contract getting paid along the way. I don't like this. Reminds me of the NBA. Once again, I am not sure I understand all the elements here.
  21. Never went to one and until this thread didn't really want to. The friends I have from high school I still talk to and we get together ever year or two for a birthday or trip. Never saw the need to see all the folks I don't really care about. This thread brought up an interesting point though. I class reunion touring the old school would be interesting to me. I would love to see the changes over the years.
  22. She's definitly a smoke show, but it holding herself in a super butt and chest out position. Almost like she is ready to sit on the can for a dump.
