Bill Belichick Refuses Trump's Presidential Medal of Freedom

Recommended Posts

There is already a thread about this in the Politics sub-forum, which is where it most likely belongs.

I'll say here what I said there: This is the first time I've ever found myself having fond feelings toward Bill Belichick for a decision that he made. Way to go, coach.

Bill B's letter to Trump in 2016:

"Congratulations on a tremendous campaign. You have dealt with an unbelievable slanted and negative media, and have come out beautifully – beautifully. You’ve proved to be the ultimate competitor and fighter. Your leadership is amazing. I have always had tremendous respect for you, but the toughness and perseverance you have displayed over the past year is remarkable. Hopefully tomorrow’s election results will give the opportunity to make America great again. Best wishes for great results tomorrow.

Bill"

Wait, what did he do to earn a medal in the first place? Coach football?

Shouldn't that be reserved for people who do, like, important things?

Rush Limbaugh got one last year.  The bar was set.

Not sure why everyone thinks this will be locked.  It's a relevant topic.

Because while it's a relevant topic of an action by a great football coach, people just can't resist to use it as a springboard to link that video about general political topics and otherwise opine in a broad political way it's been decided is off limits here.

Thanks @Simon
