Crap. The Dolphins are going to be good now. Gailey is a Super Bowl winning coach. In addition, Fitzpatrick has defeated the Patriots on all three other AFC East teams. He is the Patriot killer. Big Blitz
How freaking terrible must Rosen be? This is the last coach on the planet I'd think you'd pair with him. The move sounds like one hoping to get Fitz to stay.

Funny coincidence: Fitz played college football in New England. Fitz has played for every AFCE team EXCEPT New England. Fitz has beaten New England with every one of those AFCE teams. I think there's more to that ring he wears than we can all imagine. Does it have an Elvish inscription? 1

That's not the worst in the world, but it's basically where the Bills' offense was this season albeit with worse turnover numbers. The Bills are 30th in scoring in the Daboll era. 1 hour ago, KayAdams said: Gailey designed a creative spread offense to maximize the limited talent he had at the moment. Daboll appears to be laying the foundation of a complex Erhardt-Perkins system that will benefit Allen in the long-term, though currently without all the requisite pieces surrounding the QB. Gailey had a 6th/7th/8th year pro with Fitzpatrick. Daboll is still teaching Allen some QB fundamentals that he never learned in high school and college. So two very different situations! This probably reads as if I'm a Daboll apologist. I'm really not, though. I will call for his firing if next season's offense isn't at least comfortably within the top half of the league. I don't disagree about what they are trying to do with Allen. But I also think a lot of square peg/round hole situations start out with the similar intention. "I know EP.......I teach EP......we are going to run EP". I think it's good for Allen to learn a complex system but if he doesn't start succeeding it could be for naught. Gailey excelled at adapting offenses to the talent whether it be Tomczak/Stewart or Aikman or Tyler Thigpen or Fitz. Very different guys. All were impressed what he could do with poor surrounding talent. Daboll has always gotten garbage out of garbage on the results scale.

The "Gailey era" averages out to about 22nd, but I don't want to play that game. The context of individual years matters. Please factor in that context, particularly the historically bad offensive roster last season. You're better than that, man.

Best offense since the Bledsoe days. Chan did more with less than any OC we have had besides Roman. I would take him back in a second over Daboll. A Chan-Fitz combo surrounding Allen would have Been amazing. 6 hours ago, BuffaloRebound said: I actually think this shows well on the Dolphins as an organization. They’re most likely gonna draft Tua who won’t be ready to play. Fitz brought them respectability this year. You don’t just tank and then suddenly expect young draft picks to turn an organization around. Ask Cleveland how that’s turned out. They’re clearly trying to make Fitz happy with the Gailey move and I think that is a hell of a lot smarter than starting over with a lesser placeholder than Fitzmagic. I thought it was really stupid for them to sign Fitz if they were trying to tank because Fitz would win some games. But with Tua getting hurt, things could be working out really well for them. Let him red shirt for a year. Load up on draft picks and it looks like they have a good young coach. Maybe the Bills-Miami rivalry might actually mean something again. Enough for me to wanna see Fitz coming back in 2011. Crazy 9 years later history might be repeating itself in the division Stevie still looks like he could ball out as of last year. Heck I wouldn’t mind bringing him back in training camp For miami Go Fish 22 minutes ago, C.Biscuit97 said: Best offense since the Bledsoe days. I agree with the bolded, but the rest not so much. 2015 and 2016 offenses were top 1/3 of the league in scoring. 2016 was 16th overall and 10th in points. 2015 we were 13th overall and 12th in points. Pair this D with an offense that productive and we're in the SB conversation. Doesn't seem like too much to ask. Our talent is not bad enough to justify our production IMHO. What team is even thinking of a coach who hasent been heard of in 4 years? It's kinda funny though, Fitz and Gailey just love each other You think this rebuilding team gave a 37 year old nomadic QB say in their OC hiring? Isn't that a fireable offense? BuffaloRebound
Well, who’s a better option for them at QB next year? They’re not getting Burrow who’s probably the only guy in the draft ready to play next year. Fitz doesn’t need to play anymore. If you don’t make him happy, you have a high probability of being worse next year. It’s easy for internet GM’s to mock this decision, but I guarantee every guy in the Miami locker room except Rosen approves of bringing Fitz back.
