The cut made sense, but this makes you question it.

I wouldn’t question it. He’s just a change of pace for KC, for now. Carlos Hyde just washed out there and he’s younger than shady. Just cause he signs doesn’t mean he’ll have success.

Devin Singletary is now the man, I'm pumped to see what this kid has this year and has a future hall of famer grooming him along the way, could he have had a better situation to be in than Buffalo? I'm not a huge fan of Yeldon, the dude seems to be injured alot but should be a serviceable short yardage guy. I'm excited for this group of young and vets mixed in but I thought we could have got something for McCoy even at his price tag but I think Beane let him choose where he wanted to play his last years out of respect.

If the real issue was about buy-in, which nobody will ever go on the record and say, it doesn't make you question anything.

Shady has to know he's coming to the end too and it was a contract year for him. He's not going to want to be splitting carries in a 3 headed backfield.

Is he "good enough" for Kansas City? He was good enough for them for 4 million dollars but not for 8 which is why they didn't trade for him. He's still an NFL level RB but he's not what he was. We have at least 2 other NFL level backs on the team (I'm not sure Yeldon is, but Gore and Singletary are) that make far less and who don't carry the off the field drama. Andy Reid took him back. That's fine. They know each other, they each know what to expect.

On the contrary, I think you'll see Yeldon in a lot of passing situations. Gore will be the guy to get tough yards inside. If I need a yard to win a game there are a lots of worse people to give it to than Frank Gore.

We keep forgetting the New England model. Yeldon is James White or Dion Lewis

And terrible

We don’t cut the checks.  We likely aren’t going to use that salary cap.  We still had plenty of room.  We just got worse imo.  I would’ve kept Murphy over yeldon.  At least he plays special teams.

Yeah sure i can agree with that. Murph and Yeldon are interchangeable. We may have gotten worse but it aint much worse.

What in the world .... McBeane is savage...

Man i really liked shady... Guess we are following New England's model which is cutthroat.

Bill Walsh always said he’d rather get rid of a player a year too early than a year too late.

Exactly....I think Fairburn nailed it.  My 2 cents:

5. gore provides a better version of "ivory", and mentor-wise is the best their is.

I hope I’m wrong but I have this feeling that in the next few days, after the cut of McCoy sinks in, Gore may decide to retire or ask for his release.

He and McCoy are friends and offseason workout partners. Gore signed with the Bills to play with McCoy.

I feel like I should be sad and mad that Shady's gone, but I really don't care. I have enjoyed watching him play, but I've always felt he was overrated, even with the Eagles. I've never thought he's a HOF-er,  and getting cut by the friggin' Bills just might be the kiss of death for that talk.

Shady is only 1500-2000 career rushing yards away from solidifying his case for the Hall. He'll get all his needed yards, TD, and reception numbers with Andy Reid in KC. His first 10 years in the league have been better than Frank Gore's. I am going on record as hating this roster decision with all of my heart. Beane and McDermott may have severely underestimated McCoy's decline (mostly the OL's fault last season) and severely overestimated Singletary's abilities (4.66 40-yd dash speed for a scatback role?!).

I'm not sure that you're in the minority in questioning what Singletary is gonna bring to the table. I just don't think McCoy has all that much to offer the Bills. It seems like people are hung up on the fact that he HAS been a lead back as has Gore, who's 35 years old. That's not such a concern for me personally. Lacking a feature back isn't really a big deal.

Go back and watch that third preseason game as that third game is usually the precursor for the season. The Bills came out running and continued to run it with the starters out there. In my view this is what the team wants to do is run first to take all the load off the QB.

Now, what if the Bills can't run so well with the current players? Despite having a much improved offensive line. All of a sudden that run the ball game plan goes out the window and all the pressure to make plays is on the QB ...AGAIN!  Bills fans on the board like Bado, GunnerBill have been saying watch out this season as it won't be that good as a lot of fans think. I was in the boat thinking a 10-6 or better. Now I'm thinking it might be difficult for an 8-8 season.

This team needs a feature back more then most realize I think and man 0 man, I hope Shady doesn't end up in NE catching the ball out of the backfield for Brady. Or the could get to their fourth straight SB and win it.

I... have... no... faith... in... this... offensive... coaching... staff!!!!

Sadly, I see all it too...

I was hoping for big things for this years offense... now not so much.
