The best teams get their elite talent via the draft and retain them.  They don't pay an extra 50% on guys because they are paying the FA premium rates.  And, curious, what happens when the team invests all that money on elite talent FAs and then they get hurt and you couldn't afford proper depth?  Short answer, you are screwed.

I left Morse out because we can sign him and Bell. The 3 guys I listed could have paid Bell.

So you think giving a RB, QB money is a smart Idea?

When you have UDFA's being in the top 10 of RBs with only 192 attempts?

Steelers vs. Rams.

Steelers for years had this talent that you're crying about and couldn't make it to the big dance.

Rams built a team of good players without any superstars (Kupp, Woods, Cooks) and made it to the superbowl (coincidentally, the argument could be made that they lost because their "talent" (Gurley) let them down.)

You do realize that we can still afford bell right?

Maybe, but it would have been better to just have signed Bell and Morse. And used the leftover money on another OL.

You can get those elite stats without elite players/contracts

If the Bills go 11-5 this year and Bell signs with the ravens and Baltimore and Oakland/Vegas both suck are you still gonna cry about bell and browns stats?

Pittsburgh couldn’t win a super bowl with them at their prime and cheaper contracts with a hall of fame quarterback.

Lot of ways to win in this league, and the stars outside of quarterbacks rarely are the difference in playoffs/super bowl.

Gotta field a cohesive unit

We can’t draft WRs and RBs worth a sock, so we have to sign elite players.

Willis McGahee

Travis Henry

Thurman Thomas

OJ Simpson

All say hello. Heck could even throw in Fred Jackson.

This is why we are forever 7-9

No it's not.  You just have no basis in reality.

We made the playoffs two years ago at 9-7, and last year we were 6-10.

Are you claiming John Brown isn't good? You're wrong. I've followed him and he is a good receiver. He is a low end #1, high end #2 in my opinion.

This is eons ago. You know we suck at drafting when we have to reminisce about the good old days.

I’m not sorry. I don’t settle for mediocrity. We will just repeat the same old BS and then blame Allen if he isn’t successful. Just get him real talent.
