I disagree.  I don't think a decent (not great) RT and C in FA combined with AB would have made the Bills serious contenders.  First, Allen is still very inexperienced, the OL really needs 3-4 new starters, there isn't a TE on the roster and the RBs are all old.

Now, I am not saying that all needs to be fixed (or can be fixed) this offseason, but the cupboard is really mostly bare on offense at the moment.  If they can sign a couple of OL that are competent starters in FA and add another in the 1st or 2nd in the draft, then that would be progress.  They don't have enough high picks in this draft to really make the offense over - especially if they decide to take a DL in the 1st (because they may well be BPA).

A few additions will help a lot because the offense was so devoid of talent last year, but there is a long way to go to get to a very good offense.

You know what would help a very inexperienced QB. A WR who is one of teh bewst at getting open, and his best attriubte is the long ball, much like your QB is.

Are the majority of posters going to just gloss over how AB flat out refused to play here? Continuing the stream of players bad mouthing the franchise and refuting the "McD is a player's coach and people will want to play for him" narrative. More big names want to go to the Browns, and I've never been more embarrassed by the Bills because of it.

If you’re using Antonio Brown to gauge the opinion of anyone by those who ride on the short bus, ya got a problem.

How are people using this to take a shot at McDermott? LOL!

Please

Seen it all before. Agents of guys like Paradis toss us out there as being hot for their client and then we end up with Russell Bodine and Spencer Long.

We've also signed Mario Williams and Micah Hyde in this period.

Spencer Long was an outside-of-free-agency signing that teams always do.

Pretty crazy stuff... I didn't want him, and if the reports that he refused to play for Buffalo are true then he is proving to be just who I thought he was.

But it shows that Beane is serious and the wild ride is just getting started...

I'm guessing the Bills wanted him and the Steelers were close to dealing but Brown and Rosenhaus killed it before it come to pass. Pretty interesting from Beane/McDermott though.

This saga has surprised me.

I would say this attempted move from Beane/McD is more than interesting, it's counter to everything they have preached for two years. Going after the biggest "me first" guy in the league after spouting off about culture and "1 of 11" is laughable.

I would've been fine had they gotten AB and I'm also fine that they didn't. I'm just glad that it's finally free agency, trade, and juicy rumor season in the NFL. This got my adrenaline pumping.?

I agree with the latter. I'm trying not to be rude, but I wonder what's going on with the first poster to make them feel like that. Eternal optimism, it's a good thing, I'm jealous.

I'm embarrassed by people claiming to be fans of the team saying they're embarrassed about the team.

I don’t know what really happened and I honestly don’t care what Brown thinks of his situation.  He was rumored to the Redskins and Raiders too.  They are far worse than us and if he doesn’t see that, then that’s all I need to know.

He is a great receiver. But he clearly put himself ahead of the team due to a conflict with his quarterback.  He publicly badmouthed the entire franchise.

I’m honestly surprised we made a play for him.  He’s a cancer if he doesn’t get his way

Draft AB’s cousin Marquise Brown

Wow did not know that connection and I had already wanted that to happen. MB gets insane separation from what I've seen and seems more the exception to players his size. Hoping his injury makes him available in the 2nd for us.

Haha I cant even fathom what the previous 45 pages of this were like.  Thank god this didnt happen, davis signed here and quit in 1.5 games.  AB just quit on his team last game of the season, then got almost got traded,  now he's going to give 100% here....here? Its best we just act like this never happened

That's all that needs to be said. He's a quitter.

Amazing how people can defend that. I don't care how much of an a hole Ben R is, deciding to quit on your teammates, coaches, and fans is ALWAYS ENTIRELY your decision.

Antonio Brown is a loser.

We badly overpaid Mario and he had no other contract in the ballpark.  Hyde was another guy we overpaid (at the time) who ended up being a gem, he had fallen off the depth chart in Green Bay.
