Anonymous Poll: Would you support a Bills waiver claim for Kareem Hunt?

It's a known fact many teams would steer clear from signing a guy in Hunt's situation due to the public backlash.

I am HIGHLY interested, and Im sure others are too (including the Bills Front Office), how Bills fans would receive such a move.
 

Hunt will likely receive 6 or more games. THIS WAS NOT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE and doesnt fall under the 6 game mandatory suspension policy however with the video being out there I can't see them doing anything less. With that said I fully expect Hunt to be on the field some time next year. A team who wins a waiver wire claim would have his rights.

Personally, after watching the video and going off other things Ive heard, I dont think what has happened makes this guy a scum bag. What he did was wrong but I believe many are extremely overreacting when it comes to judging this guys entire existence. There are many aspects to this story that would cause almost anybody who has been drinking to become enraged. He clearly showed restraint and didnt even injure the woman at all.

With that said I would 100% support claiming this guy. Wouldn't be mad at all and in fact would be THRILLED if we won the claim. I doubt we would win though as I feel confident the Raiders will claim him.

Only way I'm even remotely comfortable with it is if he agrees to go through some sort of program to deal with his issues.

You have to look at this in a business aspect, since that is what the nfl is.  He may win you some games, but will it make you money or hurt your reputation/advertising/wallet?

 

So no from that stance. 

 

If it was strictly about winning games then of course any team would sign him.

I would feel more comfortable because that would be him at least taking some responsibility for his actions and working to resolve whatever problems he has that lead him to this point. I'd prefer that to him just ending up on the team like he didn't do anything wrong.

I'm on the fence about programs and classes to change behavior. It has to be the person wanting to change and they have to make an honest effort. I've seen many people attend programs and a lot of them were there just to act like they're bettering themselves but go right back to what they were doing but with more caution so they don't get caught again. People would go back to giving them the benefit of the doubt because of the program while the person continued their ways.

hit a women a no no   .   this was not spur of the moment seems pre meditated.   in last weeks game two thrown out of game for fighting with helmets still on spur of the moment.. should never happen period... should we sign him   no.   we are bills fans not women beaters would not support him as a player. 

the commision will ban him  for the lies he told them. why did he not get charged by police.  

therapy for a wife beater or woman beater  can he change no idea but  do not sign for us...

If it wasn't domestic violence, it was PUBLIC violence. No thanks, he doesn't fit the McBeane culture and the backlash would be too much.
