Bridgewater or Bust

In the offseason, we should be very aggressive in going after TB.  We don't know what we have in Allen, and we don't have the ability to get another rookie given our other holes in the roster and the need for a vet in the room.

Ideal QB room next year: TB can start, and Allen can push him.  3rd QB, if needed, can be an UDFA or another vet (Matt Moore, Landry Jones) who is easily available.

Thoughts?  And if we draft a QB, who do you suggest?

I'd go: DL (assuming top 5 pick); OL; WR; etc.

Josh Allen is starting next year and the Saints TRADED FOR Bridgewater. They’re not gonna just let him go.

This Bridgewater stuff has to end. We should have signed him, but we didn’t. I made a thread before the offseason even started about how he’s a great option and most rejected the idea, so don’t act all butthurt now. It’s over, just like Mahomes. Move on.

I think the opportunity for that decision has passed. He was the QB I wanted the BIlls to sign this off-season. Nonetheless, no matter what happens with Allen, a veteran back-up is imperative this coming off-season.

We need a backup QB and it might as well be someone who toeing the line franchise QB before injury......

If you are like me, then you have no faith in Allen whatsoever.

I'd trade a good draft pick for him if possible.

Obviously we shoulda signed him in the off-season........

We should have signed Teddy. That ship has sailed though. Allen is the QB through next year. As a competent vet in the offseason and maybe even draft a guy late. A QB room of Allen, Fitz and Shea Patterson (or something like that) would be an improvement.

Yeah, they shouldn’t have signed him in October of 2017.

If their plan was Allen, they needed a guy that could play this year. It could have been McCarron I suppose but he wasn’t near the top of the list. I’m not a Cutler fan but he’s way better than what we are doing. 2019 will be Allen and 2 guys not currently here. They need to do better with those 2 guys.

Except the OP talked about acquiring him that offseason.

He wasn't an FA in October 2017, I'm pretty sure.

That’s when that conversation was. The conversation in October of 2017 was a much different conversation knowing that Josh Allen was our target. I said a zillion times that I thought he needed to sit the year before we drafted him. When the options were Allen, McCarron, and Peterman it was different. If they were taking Baker or Rosen (2 guys that I thought were day one starters) than I would have been cool with that QB room. Now Rosen may not even be good but I thought he was day 1 ready. Teddy would have been a solid option if they were drafting a guy that should have red shirted (like Mahomes did).
