I'll be honest, i wanted Marrone to stay but ill adly eat crow , as i feel McD is the real deal and far superior HC.Ā

What a blessing in disguise that was , he is not HC materialĀ  , and he clearly doesn't have a grasp on how to treat his locker room.Ā

He has the most talented D in the game but they quit on him. That would never happen with St Shaun , and now Jax must rebuild all over again and will be releasing some top end talent this off season.Ā

Cool. Ruthless. PeopleĀ care more about one's ability to be liked, rather than coaching a winning team.

Ā

Marrone and Hackett are doing much better thanĀ our staff, even with a QB that most ridicule.

Ā

Bills 4-8 during a rebuild

Ā

Jagz 4-9 during a year when they were supposed to compete for a championship

How are they doing better?

Well for starters they have future HOFer Marcel Tub 'O Goo.Ā  McD really screwed that one up.Ā  Look at that rock solid Jax run defense!

Marrone is dead man walking.Ā  He will be luck to get a college OL job

Ā

People should know by now not to let him near the oline. He's an expert at screwing it up! Our line was good before he came to Buffalo, bad when he was here, and then good again after he left, with much of the season personnel.

Ā

He is just as mediocre a coach as they come.

Our offense with Orton was twice as good as what it is now. That was the bestĀ passing game we have had since Bledsoe. We just had no RB. If you gave Orton Shady and didnā€™t start EJ the first 4 weeks, thatā€™s the team that ends the drought.

Ā

We had no running GAME actually. It wasn't all on the backs. The interior OL stunk that year. Wood had his worst year as a Bill, Eric Pears a bad right tackle played the whole year at RG and the three starting left guards were Chris Williams (who lasted 4 games before landing on IR), Cyril Richardson and Kraig Urbik.

I wanted Marrone to stay too and I actually still think he is a decent Head Coach. I wouldn't swap McDermott for him..... but I'd swap the two years of hell being coached by a clown for any Head Coach, ever.

Wow anybody else remember having Jim Schwartz here? Ā Or, what about Kyle Orton? Ā Marrone wasnā€™t allowed to protect his staff or have a say in what genius Doug had wanted to have happened. Ā They beat a Colts team which blew us out. Ā Just because McDermott broke the drought doesnā€™t automatically give him a pass for this season. Ā What other Coach in recent memory blames his rookie Quarterback for receivers dropping balls, screams at his offensive coordinator, and demands rhythm passing drills be slowed down? Ā Dick Jauron had a good year with the Bears and not much else.

Morrone is stupid.Ā  He quit on the team. Period,

Ā

Bench Bortles - score 13 points in 2 gamesĀ

Ā

Jaguars' debacle in Tennessee further proof of how much work is needed

Doug Marrone's shake-up on offense has produced two of the season's worst performances, reinforcing the need for drastic changes in the offseason.

Does the anointed one in Sean McDermott get a pass for Peterman? Ā Considering even before print dried on the audio to print transcripts Beane has cut him? Ā Thatā€™s not internal dissension or Beane looking to protect his own neck; is it? Ā Just because it is Sean bringing him in; doesnā€™t mean Brandon wonā€™t save his own neck and trim the fat on the coaching staff. Ā Let me guess keeping Peterman was indefensible but Sean cannot be judged, right? Ā

Not sure which comment you are referring to.Ā  Ā Marrone quitting on the Bills?Ā  Or Bortles?

Ā

What does Peterman have to do with my comments anyway?

  • When you draft a 5th round QB you take your chances. McDermott didn't want to start Peterman at all last season, he said so manyĀ many times.Ā  But Turdrod gave him no choice and the disaster unfolded.Ā Ā

Ā

Why did they payĀ Bortles so much if the HC is on the cusp ofĀ benching him?.Ā  Ā It's obviousĀ Bortles isn't the only problem there.Ā

Ā

Doug Moron wants ultimate control and IMO he's not smart enough to have ultimate control.Ā  Hell, it took Coughlin's hiring to set the Jags up and lookĀ good last season!Ā

Ā

Tom Coughlin isn't ready to admit his Blake Bortles decision sunk the Jaguars' season

You have to feel just a little bit sorry for the Jaguars coaching staff for how things went this season.

Ā

As I see itĀ Marrone quitĀ on the Bills.Ā  That is unforgivable in my book.Ā Ā

Incredible. McD goes into the season with Petey as ā€œQB1ā€ and is untouchable.

Ā

Marrone and co give Bortles a bridge deal that allows them to walk away from the QB who played on a team that went to the AFCCG, and they are idiots.Ā

Hey How's last seasons bust Zay Jones doing?Ā Ā

Ā

Feb. 25, 2018

Quarterback Blake BortlesĀ  signed a contract extension withĀ the Jacksonville Jaguars,

The new contract is a three-year,Ā $54 millionĀ deal that will keep him under contract through the 2020 season. The deal includesĀ $26.5 millionĀ guaranteed.

Ā

Ā

I thought bridge deals were meant to hold a guy for a season maybe two at a "reasonable" price.Ā Ā

Bortles was the No. 3 overall selection in the 2014 NFL draft and IMO, slightly better than TT.Ā

Both are riding the bench. 1 unintentionallyĀ

Yeah bro. They can cut Bortles after next year and save $18M. The definition of a bridge deal. Educate yourself.

Ā

Oh and Zay Jones went from bust to a #3 WR. Heā€™s 78th in the NFL in receiving yards.

So a QB takes your team to the AFCCG, and in your opinion, aĀ deal with an AAV that is 19th in the NFL for QBā€™s, just behind Case Keemun, with an option to walk away and save $18M after two years, isnā€™t a ā€œreasonable bridge deal.ā€

My view is a combo of you two. It IS a bridge deal, but a damn harsh one for the team. And I'm glad as I certainly dislike the teamĀ and their coach ha ha. Most of the cap and money damage was for this year so in that sense it is a a bridge deal. But they paid quite a lot for what they got. A lot. Bortles wonĀ the lottery.

Ā

That being said, the little I watched last night, that included that 99 yard run (yes!), the other QB seemed way better than Bortles but the playcalling is so atrociously predictable and conservative. And Marrone has clearly lost control of his players, unlike McD. StillĀ I hope he keeps his job and continues the tire fire over there.

Ā

Was it really theĀ QB that took your team to the AFCCG? Or the defense and a better running game?Ā

Ā

2017 Ā  Ā  Ā
JAGS Offense 2262 rushing yards w/ 18 TD's 141 ypg

Offensively

I see little difference in the passing stats between 2017 & 2018Ā

I see noticeable difference in the rushing stats between 2017 & 2018Ā

Ā

DefensivelyĀ

I see a difference in more yards allowed and TDs' by the defense in the rushing stats between 2017 & 2018Ā

Marrone did not quit on the team; Pegula with Whaley wanted him to change his staff and approach.
